We can only hope no one takes the bait.
The Hyundai dealership that was marking up Ioniq 5s by $13K... I suspect somebody would have since it was in a posh area. This Kia dealership is all working class clientele and location. I can't see anybody in the area affording a $86K OTD EV6.

They offered 3 different trims to me - each with a $15K markup. That's 33% markup on the lowest trim. Wow.

I will just buy my Mach-E order and want until next year's model for the Kia. The Ioniq 5 and EV6 have pretty janky infotainment systems and they will be replaced by Nvidia Drive in the future. The Mach-E's system I think will last for many many years - very usable and doesn't require any changes.

I think it was Doug's review that pointed out how the EV6 screens make you toggle between music and climate controls, and you can't have both controls displayed at the same time. That's a daily use item that would make me crazy, especially since the toggle arrow is small. Might be tough to hit it while driving. I find that driving electric I regularly turn climate on and off to save battery, and of course switch Sirius stations regularly. Appreciate how the Mach-E has controls for both always on display. The EV6 does have some other great features though- I like how you're able to move it forward or backward slowly with the key fob. Styling is pretty nice too. Can't go wrong with either one.
I agree with the above and I also think that Ford eventually will add more hands free control to sync. I would like to see on and offs and settings for the complete climate system and heated seats and steering wheels.

Just asked local dealer about EV6, he said he expects 3 AWD GT-Line models in March, and I put my name on the list for one of them.

I'm still waiting to be scheduled for production from an Oct order. If I am not scheduled for production by the time this EV6 arrives, and the EV6 does not have any crazy last minute markups... I might be switching.

Premium AWD ext battery and GT-Line AWD both have similar range and similar 0-60 numbers. But the EV6 has:
+ quicker charging (not a huge deal to me)
+ vented seats, heated rear seats
+ sunroof opens
+ I think ground clearance is a touch higher?
- smaller storage spaces
- not as cool as the mustang

Am I missing other things?
Only big negative for me was no wireless Carplay. I have really gotten used to that. Can't fathom why a new model doesn't have it unless reviews are wrong right now.

Same for me and my Wife. We have become addicted to wireless CarPlay!! The EV6 still interests me and I would like to do a test drive. I doubt if our local Kia dealer has one but I am going to check and see if they do?

Ditto.

I too am waiting on a production date for my 10/19 order and am drawn to the features on the EV6, but do prefer the look of the MME.

From the EV6 forums it looks like it will be markup insanity for a while and they won’t be available for at least a month or two in the US.
I was just quoted $10k over MSRP from a dealer in California

Same. I keep the dog bed in the frunk. I put takeout food in there (Indian curry dishes make me especially paranoid and grateful for the frunk). It's handy for some extra luggage space.
My wife has already used it to store clothing donations for her work, as well as dirty clothes from her homeless outreach job that go straight to the wash when she gets home. I intend to use it for my wetsuit after ocean swimming. I can keep them separate from the non-wet items in the trunk and the drain holes will help a lot.

The frunk is great once you figure out how to use it. I mean, they REALLY want you to tailgate with it. ? Our Mach-E didn't come with the separator which made me happy. More space. Most people just remove it.

Our local Kia dealer said they'll have some in about 2 weeks so I'm going to go check them out. At 6'4" I wonder whether I'll fit in the front seats without having to recline them too much.
I went to KIA dealer in SoCal today to try entry/exit for 6'2" old guy tired of squat and scootch into sports car. Sorry, not one on lot. They'll get some in late Feb, but they're all first edition which is sold out. They take no orders. Even if one comes available, they have a $10K markup on them. Pay more or wait, same as Ford MME. Goodbye.

Ouch..... Just spotted this today. A 2015 Kia. I have a 19 Ioniq EV. Although this has not occurred yet, the paint is very thin. A snow scraper will scratch the paint and clear it down to primer. Every bird dropping, if it sits for 1 day, etches the clearcoat. I have applied so many coats of wax to try and stop this. I hope Kia/Hyundai improves finishes. I have been quite critical with them in my surveys. Also, after the first 12 months, my Ioniq started to rust internally inside the trunk under the installed noise pads and around the hatch. This is inside the car, not exterior. Hyundai nor my dealer would respond to the rust claim.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here.
That is my fear of the longevity of Paint on a 2015 Kia (7 years old). I hope they have resolved these problems on the newer cars..... Only my word of caution on Kia/Hyundai products in the Northeast. My Ioniq EV (2019), has shown corrosion and rust beginning on internal body panels within the first 12 months and 10,000 miles.

Wow, not good. Got pics? What has Kia said about this?

I sent photos and documents direct to Hyundai, they said contact the dealer. I sent to the dealer and they would not respond after 3 attempts. I assume, since it's not "perforation" they will not act at all until it goes through. I do have an active recall and will be bringing it to them for service and comment. I will most likely treat it myself unless I buy out the lease and simply sell the car. It was quite discouraging for their flagship EV that has had meticulous care. It's hard to run to a dealer with only a 100 mile Winter range EV and the dealer is over 50 miles away and no public charging in their town.

I will dig up the photos, but will have a look tonight and see if it's gotten any worse. I was quite upset as I fluid filmed the underside of the car. This is in the rear trunk floor and along the upper edge of the truck where the hatch weather-stripping is and the latch plate.

Thanks. Scratch the EV6 off my list of potential new EVs. I'll stick with my MME 4x on order and our Tesla Model Y.

I've spoken to about 10 dealers now... wow... the markup on the EV6 is just off the charts. $25K, $23K, $15K, $7K (one day special).

Big pass. This car was supposed to fill the itch while my Mach-E GTPE is built. At those markups I might as well buy a marked up GTPE now.
