Factory Door Unlock Code?

The code is on a white sticker on the BCM under the glovebox against the firewall. I have had to get it twice for two different Mach-E's that I needed to set up personal codes for. Neither owner had their code's.

It's not just Mach-E's that have it there. I have gotten it on other Ford's there too.

If you have two fobs, you never need to look anywhere.

I mean, yeah, but if I were in a situation such that I could use two fobs then that would not be the time that having that info would be handy.

But since you do have two fobs, if you don't have the number today you get it with the two fobs, store it on your phone, and then you aren't the guy laying on the floor of your car trying to read the numbers...

I live in the UK and have a second hand mach-e. The sales guys are equally useless in the UK and did not get the factory reset code from the previous owner. When I asked them about it they all looked blank. I have tried to follow the instructions in this thread and have a few recommendations for improved success.

1) Thecar must not be plugged into a charger.
2) Turn off the car while inside and do no open the door.
3) Place one key fob in the cradle in the centre storage box.
4) Start the auxiliary power e.g. press start without touching the break.
5) Wait untill the process is complete e.g. 5 seconds or so.
6) Turn off the auxiliary power without touching the break.
7) Swap the key fob in the cradle with your second key fob.
8) Start the auxiliary power again (no foot on break).
9) Clear the messages and the code will be displayed.

So this worked perfectly on repeated tests. The issue I encountered was that the factory code displayed was 5 digits long and the reset on the centre screen asks for the 7 digit factory code. Does anyone have any idea what the two missing numbers would be?

As I have never been able to use the keypad code, can I ask how the numbers are entered? The keypad contains 5 buttons with two numbers for each. If I was trying to enter 15724 would I press 1/2, 5/6, 7/8, 1/2, 3/4?

Yes, if you want to enter 15724 you would press 1/2, 5/6, 7/8, 1/2, 3/4.

The Keypad code is located on a sticker on your BCM. It will be a 7 digit code. The BCM is the module that is in the footwell on the passenger side with the fuses.

7 digit is for Europe and China. All other countries are 5 digit. However you can in any country change the code from 5 to 7 or 7 to 5 using the software FORScan.

To be clear, your used Mach-E should have a factory reset done on it before using it. This clears all codes except factory code, removes access to the vehicle by the prior owner via FordPass, etc. Then, you use the factory code to program your own codes if you want.

Note that the factory code cannot be changed. If a prior owner has it, and knew where the vehicle was, they could access it. By doing the reset, you eliminate their ability to find the vehicle.

I would make the dealership delete the missing fob, and program a 2nd fob for you, as part of the purchase.
