My Options contract is up next month, but I'll probably just buy it out. I'm not going to be able to find a better car for $24k.
Same. I just bought out my options contract up next month. With BC 1.4 on the horizon and extended for the 3-yr price, it’s a really good deal.
People complain all the time about Ford software updates, but as far as I’m concerned they made good on the promise to keep this car updated and it’s something they’ve never done before. I’m only 23k miles, and everything is in really good shape.

Yesterday I got an email from my local dealer saying "we want your car" or something to that effect. Which translates to we'll take your car and put you in a new one. BTW, they have 50 new Mach E's on their lot and that's probably why they want existing customers to trade up. Anyway, since I've been wanting to trade my 2021 which just turned 2 years and get a lease on a new one, I sent a return email. Why do I want to trade up? We bought the car with Ford Options for 48 months because I thought we would keep it but I would rather have a lease on a new car since the technology keeps changing.
Anyway, one guy called and told me I have to bring in the car. I told him that they have the mileage (13,300) and the car is in excellent condition, so just give me your best price. Then I get a call from the used car manager and go through the same thing and told him I wouldn't hold him to the price and would bring the car in if it seemed reasonable. I didn't want to bring the car there because I had a feeling they would give me a lowball offer. Long story short -he said that my car was "going for $23,000." I said thank you and I'm not interested. I'll just ride out another 2 years and then turn it back under the Ford options.
The ‘21 Premium AWD has features that were discontinued. I like the foot-activated tailgate and the park assist that will soon be discontinued. (Though I haven’t used it.)

Have you asked Ford Credit about financing the balloon for up to 36 months?

No. I’m just planning to pay the balloon, though I’ll see what their offer is. I’m actually surprised they haven’t sent me anything yet.

Title should be changed to "Dealer Offer".

You forgot to factor in tax credit on the Model Y. They can be purchased for about $38k after tax credit for an inventory one.
I did not forget. I’m comparing selling price to trade-in value.
The amount of the tax credit, if any, has varied too much to consider it as a factor, in my opinion. (Both vehicles had a $7,500 credit for at least some of 2023.)

Sending out those "We want your car" notices is just a sales tactic to get you to come in and start talking about buying something new. Now that trade-in values are back to normal, there's no way it would be financially beneficial to trade in a 2 year old car on something new. And it definitely doesn't make sense to take that kind of a hit just to trade for essentially the same car.
Right. I used to get them every few months from Audi (for an essentially identical car 2 or 3 years newer), and my wife gets them every month (or more) from the Honda dealer.

You'd have to ask them. I haven't received any offer, just some calls from a third party lease return pre-inspection company which I've ignored.

I've contacted Ford Credit three times so far... First rep told me to wait until month 35's payment was processed. Second one put in a request to reschedule the final payment.

On my third call I was told the request was declined because it wasn't the right request for Ford Options ?. Then the guy said Options can't have the final payment rescheduled. I pointed out the contract states it can be refinanced but reschedule is the term the prior two FC agents told me to use. He put me on hold and said yes it can be refinanced... He put in a new request and said a Ford Credit representative should call me back within two weeks to go over numbers and confirm the change.

They're cutting things close for me since my final payment is due around 3 weeks from now. Not excited about this process so far.

You‘d think they would have this process worked out since they’ve had 3 years to think about it. I hope they don’t just use my auto-pay settings for the final payment. I don’t usually have $24k sitting in that account.

Just came home with new Mach-E. Original 2021 was declared a “Total Loss” by the insurance company with only $15,000 worth of damages. Apparently the salvaged parts are worth more!

The dealer for the new MME took $5,000 off the sticker (MSRP) and Ford subtracted another $7,500 with a lease! I still remember when some dealers were adding $5,000 or more to MSRP. . .

2021 MY LR AWD with FSD and 30k miles is going $35,000. We can debate which car is better, but Tesla has an exponentially higher demand.

MME and resale value should not even be in the same sentence, unfortunately.

Yeah anyone with Ford Options right now just needs to ride it out and then hand the keys back to Ford. No way a trade would be good for us.
I bought a premium AWD in Nov '23 and it just so happened that when I was ready, Ford offered 0% financing for 48 mo. There's no deal in history that will entice me to trade in early unless they offer 0% again.

We get those same letters from the local Volvo dealer and although the car is now almost 4 years, that was also financed at 0%, so when I have called I always start with that. No way I'm going to pay a finance fee.
