Interestingly (or not), I noticed a change in the "handshake" today at an EA station to plug and charge. After the handshake, the screen showed a verification of the vehicle plugged in and current state of charge then indicated the pricing (in this case 0.00 because of the included FordPass kwh balance remaining), then waited until after I hit "continue" before initiating the charge, which was a new step that wasn't there before. On that verification screen, it gave options for "member price" that were greyed out because of the remaining free time.

Other folks pulled up with a brand new Chevy Bolt and they were EA members (no plug and charge--there was definitely jealousy happening). They also said the initiating process was different for them vs what they normally experience and they're EA members as well. Added step to verify EA membership and it recognized their credit card on file instead of using the mobile app in their phone to initiate to give them member rates.

So.... MAYBE.... Member pricing through plug and charge is being tested by Ford and EA at certain stations with EA introducing new ways to verify membership pricing applicability outside of the EA mobile app?
This is very interesting and indeed very refreshing .... and thank you for sharing !!! I am here in central Florida and as usual we are the last to get any innovations in the field of EV's.

I suspect that Ford might be working on this issue with EA so that in the future you’ll be able to access membership rates through FordPass. Not a huge deal but it would be one more small step in providing a more integrated charging experience.
Emma Bergg indicated they were looking into it a few months ago. I just pinged her again on Twitter to see if there's progress:

Greenlots are in Orlando Omni ChampionsGate (CCS & ChaAdeMO) free for now, joint venture between Duke Energy & Shell (50KW) (4 stations) used in 12/21.

When I was at the dealer buying my MME they told me all about the Ford Network, Plug and charge, Electrify America and their thousands of chargers and the 250KwH free.

Then I got home and found out that in my part of New Jersey, most densely populated state in the union, there is a grand total of one EA charging station - it has three CCS plugs, two if them have been broken for weeks. That station is 32 Miles from me, the next closest is in Pennsylvania, 93 Miles away.

I can't tell you how excited I am about EA and plug and charge. And my Ford dealer. ?

Sure looks like more than one in NJ to me. I live in Vermont where there are zero.

You're right, I had the power level set up high.
But the closest one is still 32 Miles away, I'm not really interested in driving clear across the state for a charge.

Could be worse. Like I said, there are zero in my state. I've owned the MME since March and have never plugged it into a DCFC station. My 500kWh of free electricity will probably expire before I use any of it. Such is life.

That being said, I don't want EA stations near my house. I want them a couple hours away since I would leave on any road trip with a full battery. EA does have plans to install its first station in the town where I live. That won't be useful for me.
