In the last 3 days my symptoms have become slightly worse. I have experienced 3 occasions where cruise control deactivates. As if I pressed the pause button or touched the brake pedal. Prior to this weekend, when CC drops out....the bubble line would turn orange with "cancelled" at the bottom. Now I don't even get that message. The green set speed indicator just turns white with a white line across it.

Kinda annoying. I drive in Engage 2PD so when that happens the car just starts to mild regen and traffic starts darting around me. No orange icon in the lower left corner either. Weird.
I really expected these systems to function longer than 18 months.
Your car has a bunch of communication codes. It's clear that the IPMA is losing power or communication links to the other modules during some of these events. Likely caused by some kind of bad connection somewhere (could be internal or external to the IPMA module). Bad solder joint, bad connector, broken or rubbed through wire, etc. Unfortunately these problems are very difficult to troubleshoot, you'd need a very competent tech to hook up an oscilloscope to the CAN bus networks and try to catch a glitch. It seems hardware related at this point. You may need a new IPMA?

IPMA: U3000:89 - Control Module: Internal Data Transfer Failure
IPMA: U2107:68 - Collision mitigation by braking, bad data received
ABS: U023A:00 - Lost Communication With IPMA

As my car is still in the shop for the fourth time (and day 36?), I would like to hear more about this buyback process. Did you start with Ford Corporate first and then went to BBB Auto Line?

I have an open ticket with Ford corporate now and they are working with my dealer, but it doesn’t make sense to be paying for a car that I can’t fully and safely use.

You will not get anywhere with Ford corporate. It is just a dead end street.

The lemon law process is outlined in your owners manual which you can access through the Fordpass app. Each state has their own requirements for filing and the process, however the BBB Auto Line seems to be the assigned third party in these disputes in most states.

It could be hardware but I am doubtful. The two most common situations where the faults occur are at first start up from my parking space at work and the HOV ramp from 1-10 to US-60. In both cases, when the fault occurs the orange icon remains for a prescribed amount of time. I can literally predict exactly when the system will resume normal operation. As I approach 40th St from the office and before the Kyrene underpass on the freeway. If it was bad solder joints or loose connections then I would expect the faults and restore events to be much more random.

Leaving the office for lunch....

Interesting. Since my last long rant post, I've also been trying to pay closer attention, and a similar thing happens. About every 2 days, the fault occurs at first startup in the morning in the driveway. The other times it happens may be on certain stretches of a nearby interstate south of us, but we don't take it often enough on that particular route for me to feel confident in saying that as certain quite yet.

Last week I had a fault-free morning commute with BC engaged nearly the entire commute... no issues... sipping coffee watching the road. Then going home in late afternoon, on the exact same stretch of mapped interstate, faults... faults... and yes, more faults... intermittent disengagement on/off. I think I pissed off folks behind me.

Hi @Mach-Lee are you able to pull codes for other cars? I’m interested in seeing what is happening with the failures of my Front Camera modules. I can DM you my VIN.

RedStorm is now at dealer visit attempt #3 to correct this problem. Tech is contacting engineering hotline for support as we speak. Service advisor had my back-up, family hybrid vehicle topped-off with dino fuel! That was nice! Fingers crossed tightly....

Ford has offered to buy back the vehicle. They’ve also offered to give me a cash settlement while the car is attempted to be fixed. This is its fourth time and its been a month for the latest. Have a gas loaner in the meantime. Debating taking the money and letting them keep trying. I have it on 0.9% finance and bunch of modifications I d already invested on the car. Might just have to live without BC or cruise control

I I just noticed an incorrect icon inside the "Pre-collison Assist not available" warning message box. Isn't that the symbol for cross-traffic alert?

Did they make a pretty good offer?

Ok quick update. Had my car about a week. NO FAULTS. No, it's not time to celebrate as I've gone this long before. However, I wanted to give an interim update.

What the dealer did differently in this case was to fix a fault with the ABS system (after of course doing all the other steps everyone has gone over ad nauseam). Anyone with an issue may want to suggest looking into it if their car is still at the dealer and they're unsure what else to do.

Riding with a passenger today. As we approached the freeway interchange I said...."Okay, watch this. BCHF will drop to BCHO as I climb the ramp. Totally normal. Then, after the speed limit sign but before the merge sign.....the Front Camera and collision faults will appear."

As expected. That is exactly what happened. Then I said..."Now, the faults will remain as we pass under this bridge." Then after we passed under the bridge I said "The faults will clear after that blue sign but before the yellow diamond shaped sign."

The faults cleared just as we approached the yellow sign. My passenger said "Wow, that is super weird. Something must be wrong with the software! Has it always done that?". I said it appeared after one of the OTAs for BC. 2.8.3 I think....

Doesn't seem like a hardware fault would consistently fault like that but I suppose anything is possible at this point.

it was a fair offer to buy back. but i would be out of a car until i purchased another one, and the only ones out there that are reasonable without huge markups that have hands free driving are tesla and bolt but they're not available for immediate purchase from what i can find. I heard Polestars have their own problems too, plus no hands free. not going to buy another mach-e until ford comes clean about this issue. ioniqs and ev-6 don't have hands free driving. and if i'm going to have a car with no hands free driving, i might as well keep the one i have already since, aside from the annoying error message, it drives fine. plus the money they offered to keep is a fair offer as well.

it was a hard decision, for sure, and not everyone will pick the money and keep the car. but i'm betting on them fixing it at some point. plus, i'm already committed to the modifications i have on the car and there really is no other select awd with comfort and tech package anymore, plus the 0.9% fincance i have on this car. its a calculated cost and i'm eyes wide open keeping it with this continuing issue

UPDATE:
A Ford field service engineer has been sent to assist my dealer in diagnostics! Ugggg, you'd think on the 3rd attempt this would be automatic. It's likely wiping away a little profit from my MME's sale. The naughtly PCA/FC/ACC gremlin doesn't want to play nicely!
