So ford is just going to start buying these cars back now instead of fixing this issue!? what the heck...
Well my dealership has no idea how to fix the issue. They’re waiting to hear back from ford on what to do. I was told that they pulled the codes and that’s about it. From the other posts I’ve read, my expectations are low. Basically my car is sitting at the dealer.

Car went in today for first attempt to be looked at.... pretty low confidence.

Really sad, love this car- but this is a major issue.

It is crazy seeing the increasing number of posts of folks experiencing the issue for the first time. Clearly something systemic is amiss.

I got a phone call today from someone with a Ford e-mail address and extension asking me to take my car to the dealer for this issue. When I explained that my warranty was expired, they gave me a case number and said Ford would offer financial assistance with the repair. Not sure what that means exactly but at least they are offering to help figure this out. That sounds like a positive thing I guess...

That's awesome! You likely got a Ford BEV team case mgr (Customer Experience Specialist) assigned to this issue. That's who I have and she's very good at following up with me on stuff going on.
UPDATE: I got a call from her today and she said a new frontal camera will be installed and tested. A f/u will be conducted shortly.

Make sure you clearly confirm with the dealer that you're following instructions from Ford case mgr to bring in the car. Your diagnostics 'may' be comped... goodwill. Check!

Cool. Fingers crossed that it works! If so, then I may give it a try myself. Not really interested in spending a lot of money to replace stuff unless we are confident it will work. I don't mind paying something.....that is only fair but not willing to write a blank check either.

You should just jump on it now and get it into a dealer and see what they mean. Generally, they'll just offer to cover it under warranty, in full. Very rare they'll do a piece meal coverage when they reached out to you.

I totally agree to move on it ASAP especially if it's verified they're covering the entire costs through your case. My retail diagnostics, labor, and parts replacement costs are approaching $7.5k on this 3rd attempt... and it's still being worked on!

Hey there! I can look into your Mach-E’s error message concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

UPDATE: Tech followed Ford's "hotline" instructions to repair. Replaced IPMA & frontal camera then calibrated. The IPMA bricked itself internally -- locking up after registering multiple faults. Could not update or calibrate it again. Replaced with another one. This one updated & calibrated successfully for my car. Performed a large update (8GB?) of something. So far all OK on short road tests. Tech wants to drive it a couple more days with more miles before closing RO to ensure no faults reappear. Jury is out!

'21 Mach-E Select RWD Base with the same issues. I'll recap my experience so far:

The front camera / PCA errors started popping up sporadically in March/April of this year ('22) and eventually became persistent. It took me a month or so to get my schedule to work out so I could get it to the dealer since being down a car is pretty impactful for our family. After a few days, they called and said it was fixed. They had replaced the IPMA module that was faulty and I was good to go! I was told the issue was warranty covered and I wouldn't be charged. I picked up the Mach-E, and the error message popped up while pulling out of the dealer parking lot. I was hoping it was a fluke, but like so many others have stated, the issue kept popping up sporadically (usually when the car drives over a rough patch of road) until it finally fails completely and won't reset itself.

When I called to schedule the second fix attempt, I asked if I could have a loaner and was told the waiting list was very long. I pushed that I needed the loaner and opted to wait and after 7 weeks they loaned me a Fusion to drive while they attempted another fix on the Mach-E. I was told they had to call the Ford engineer hotline to get assistance on the repair steps, but they were confident this was the final fix and I wouldn't have the issue again. I picked up the car, and made it all the way home without any errors, I was relieved! Unfortunately, the errors returned the next day, and I drove for about 5 days with sporadic errors (usually on bumpy patches of road) until it finally got the persistent error message.

I called back to schedule the 3rd attempt at fixing, but was again told it would be another 7-8 weeks for a loaner, so I am currently waiting again. I also mentioned to the Dealership that I was interested in trading it for another Mach E since they have one or two available on their lot (with 10k markups) but they told me that due to the camera issues with my car they could only give me base wholesale for my car as it's value is severely diminished with the camera errors.

It's very frustrating to have this issue; mostly because of the effort it takes to obtain a loaner and get the repairs scheduled, and then the very short time it seems to work after the repair. I'd love to just trade it out for another Mach-E but it seems that option is off the table until a permanent fix is found. I also worry that I'll be out of warranty soon (27k miles) and not sure what happens if I cross that threshold before they come up with a permanent fix.

Contact Ford Customer Experience via phone tomorrow and demand a BEV team case manager assistance ASAP. There's no stinkin' way you need to wait that long for a loaner. The dealers can authorize a car rental company reservation the same day! You need to have this safety issue fixed under warranty. I'm on attempt #3 and have an extra family car as my loaner but was always offered an Enterprise RAC on the spot. That's awesome to know that our MMEs have significantly reduced resell value even to Ford dealers with this Ford-designed defect! Wonderful. Welcome to the 3rd attempt fix club lounge... soon!

i agree with calling ford.

I had to wait multiple weeks for a loaner too. Dealer called day before saying they didn’t know when they’d have any (after waiting weeks to be scheduled) and I lost it with them. They suddenly decided to take a new car off the lot and gave me it as a loaner

I still feel pretty confident this is a software issue. We’re all discussing hardware replacements and it’s not fixing anything…. Or temporarily.
Maybe the hardware degrades over time and they’re not accounting for it properly in the code.

idk… but this needs to turn into a recall…

Has anyone reported this to the NHTSA?
