I've not had this fail, but don't want to go through the hassle if it does so I've ordered a replacement latch. Weekend project coming up.

Fun fact - I had an issue with the release on my Lightning. They checked it, and ended up having to replace it.
Dealer just called me. He said the problem was that mechanism or whatever it's called was dirty so they cleaned and lubed it and it works now. I haven't picked it up yet but that's good news if it doesn't happen again. No charge.

I actually open the frunk with the keypad almost exclusively.

Meh, it will probably stick again. The motor gears got stuck on mine, it would stick about every other time when I tested for repeatability. Make sure you test the electronic release a half dozen times in the dealer parking lot before you take it back.

Just got it back from the dealer. Both latches had to be replaced on the frunk. Working fine now from screen and FordPass. Dealer talked to Ford and they only charged me $195. But it shows as Warranty on the invoice. Just happy to have it back and working.

When I went to pick up the car, the frunk still didn't work despite being "dirty." Turns out the latches needed replacement. Ford charged me $195. Works fine now.

Can the OP post the part number(s) that were used in the repair?

I've opened my frunk five times, and three of those were to add windshield washer fluid.
