Question I don't see answered elsewhere: Is the temperature in the frunk closer to the interior cabin or the ambient outside temperature?

The outside. There is no heating, or cooling, of the space. It also has no airflow.

Maybe even a little warmer than ambient as it isn’t too far from the battery management components that let off some heat.

Someone did study this and it does get a little warm as the heating equipment is located behind it (looking from the front) as well as some of the pipework for the battery cooling etc. I think there's a thread on this forum about it.

So, still closer to the ambient air temperature than the cabin temperature... ;)

Has someone designed a custom cooler yet for the Frunk?
When I had mine apart, I was going to do some insulation of the tub, but it's so close to several items in the front compartment that it would have been an exercise in futility. Something that fits inside the tub would probably be a better idea. I haven't done anything in that department. 🤪🤷‍♂️🐩

What about something like the thermal barrier that can be installed on the inside of the roof decking on your house? It seems quite thin and flexible. Remove the tub, wrap it, and reinstall.

In some places, there is contact with the hoses or with the car's structure. A little insulation would help, but because of direct contact with the coolant hoses, there would still be an issue. I gave up after looking at everything. 😱🤷‍♂️🐩

The frunk is pretty well insulated. In CDN summer weather, ice cubes in the frunk last through the night - some will still be there the next day.

Maybe one could buy a cooler that fits in the frunk...

It's a plastic tub with a drain. Not insulated, neither is the hood that closes on it. Temperature is closer to ambient than to the inside of the vehicle.

Slightly off topic, but is the frunk "less safe" for certain items? If I opted to put my laptop bag in there or a drone, would it be the same as putting items in a sedan's trunk or would it get jostled more? Being that it also gives me a more secure feeling since the trunk is obviously not enclosed on an SUV, I'd like to put my laptop bag in there if I'm leaving it in the car sometimes.

Why would it get jostled more? What would you be doing with the car that the front end would bounce around more than the back?

Of course putting a breakable item in a frunk, or trunk, without proper packing or padding would result in the same broken item.

The advantage of the frunk is that it cannot be opened without opening the door and pulling the handle, twice.
