Thanks for clarifying! So what I suspected. That's a relief - definitely wouldn't be worth getting a PE if it had less power than a newer GT haha.
They both have the same advertised HP, while the GT-PE has slightly more advertised torque. ??

So I bought the car! :) 2021 white GT Performance Edition with 10k miles. In the end I paid even a little less for it: Got it for $57k (not including taxes and some sketchy $500 document fee.) But overall seemed like a fair deal. Car was in perfect condition inside and outside.

It's still at the dealership right now. Will probably pick it up next week.

@BigMach-E : You said something about having someone here run the VIN through something. What's up with that?

@Teleks congrats! You are going to love it! That’s a really smoking deal. I got mine about 3 weeks ago, 2021 Shadow Black GTPE for 62k with 2.8k miles. So price difference between your and mine equivalents to a dollar a mile :). Do you have the glass roof and the 360 cameras?

I can’t volunteer anyone else’s services/subscription on here, but there are a lot of friendly folk that can help. Or you can get a 50 dollar 2 day subscription to FDRS just for the purpose of running your VIN, to see the state of your software. My favorite thing to do with the dealer fee nonsense even if I already know about it is to act shocked at the sudden price increase and start to walk away. The last car I bought I suddenly remembered some accessories I wanted and got them all 'free'. I refer to them as a "stupid tax", as in ya'd be stupid to simply let them charge you 100% pure profit.

Haha thanks for the congratulations.

@TeleksDo you have the glass roof and the 360 cameras?
Yep, it has that package. Would have probably preferred no glass roof. Sounds like extra weight.. and also, I shave my head ...is there any info about how well the glass blocks UV light lol?
I think it's good to have the cameras though.. so I'm glad it has that package!

also @BigMach-E you mentioned it would be good to get a car with up-to-date software. I have to admit that this one wasn't up to date as far as I can tell. ? (I noticed in the drive mode selection menu there wasn't an image of the car. In the other Mach E's I test drove there always was a front view of the car on that screen. Does that mean this one is not updated?') I hope that's not going to be an issue!

@Teleks Reports of how well the glass roof blocks UV rates it as rather good at this. The more weight aspect up top due to glass roof is easily offset by how much more airy the cabin feels.

The car not having updated software isn’t really a problem per se. It’s just likely that OTAs won’t update the car at this point further. Can’t really say as to what modules have been updated, and what hasn’t.

If you plan on keeping the car for a long time, you might want to think about getting a 12v charger, a mongoose cable, a junker windows laptop and get familiar with the thread I posted.

Very little of the software will change the basics of how the car functions as a car, but some of those updates are useful, and some are fun, and some have caused glitches.

Ford is getting better on the software front, and is continually making improvements. That being said, either love the car with the software it has when you are buying used, or know that you are going to have to do the updates yourself. Ford has been very hit or miss on the OTA front, because writing packages that update modules on cars when almost every car has a different set of software that is up to date and pushing out server side automatically is hard.

The glass roof has really good UV and IR blocking, so your scalp will be fine. I wanted a metal roof because I am a cornering junkie. A few mm lower CG makes me happier than the 360 cameras would have made me. The funny thing is that I haven’t been beating on the car for a year since my dog got cancer and then we found out about the HVBJB issue after he died, so it makes no difference for the last year. ??

Post your VIV in the FDRS thread and ask for one of the kind volunteers to scan your VIN for available updates. Note that a dealer is not required to update anything there isn’t a CSP or recall for. Yours may or may not give you the time to update modules for which Ford will not pay them. ??

WOW I didn't think either of those sound like great deals. I am in the market for a GT/GTPE and I am stuck on a price point of about $54k. I have found very few at that price. I also wanted to have under 10k miles. I guess I am asking for a lot. But I keep seeing prices come down. None of the ones in my price point are near me. I would have to pay $600-$1k to have it shipped to me. Perhaps I need to raise my price slightly.

Good luck with that. So, you want a car that is in high demand, with less than 10k miles on it, for 23 thousand dollars less, in close to perfect condition. If I may ask, what state are you in? You can wait, and I’m sure you will see that price in a year or so.

That was the smart move IMO. Congrats!
