I’ve never had a hands-free liftgate that works by waving your foot but it seems easy enough to understand. Except it doesn’t work on my new MME. I’ve tried scanning the QR code (doesn’t scan), and checking the settings on the in car manual. Really not sure if this has to be activated or if I’m just using it wrong?
My 2022 Premium had it installed but it wasn’t activated. I’m guessing the assembly line wasn’t updated in 12/21 when mine was built.
I was able to activate it with a pair of programming changes, one to activate the hardware and another to add the feature to the touchscreen.
But as it turns out, I don’t use it so it’s turned off.

My secret desire is an automatic lift gate on the Frunk!!! Between groceries, pickleball Bag and sweaty gym clothes, I use the Frunk almost daily. Has anyone been able to convert it to "automatic" like the F150 Lightning?
My not-so-secret desire is a Frunk release that doesn’t sound so stupid & industrial (the frunk on my mate’s Porche just opens, no fuss, no noise - there’s no need for it to be so… laboured on the Mach-e).

My 23 (UK) definitely has the hands-free tail lift.

Is that difficult for you? I do it all the time.
Me too. It beats trying to push a button under the tailgate while holding two armloads of groceries.

That’s because it doesn’t have the feature. The plaque was too expensive to change.
Admittedly there would be a small expense to have their supplier alter the label, and perhaps even a small price increase, but had they gone that route they would've/could've/should've recouped the $. Instead, and ignoring IATF 1699 Quality Management System Requirements regarding obsolecence, documentation and customer satisfaction, they left everything as is. It's all about money, always has been, always will be. I spent a career fighting the corporate juggernauts and holding manufacturing to Quality System Requirements (say what you do, do what you say). I've shut down production lines many, many times over failure to 'do what we say'.

OK, I'm better now. I obviously brought some pent up emotions with me when I retired. Sorry!

Start of Job 1 2022 models was January 3rd, 2022. Not in December of 2021.

As you've learned by now the hands-free function doesn't exist. There's lots of posts about this subject, including mine:
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/i-wrote-a-letter-to-ford-and-they-actually-wrote-back.42096/

I actually wrote to Ford expressing my dissatisfaction and they wrote back (twice!) basically saying, "Yeah, we know...oh look! squirrel!...have a nice day."

It wasn't active on my 22 premium, built in June, so I enabled it in FORScan. I use it quite a bit but it does open from time to time when I'm walking up to the car (up to 30' away). This hasn't caused any issues, but it's definitely a bug that probably won't be addressed since Ford doesn't support this feature any longer..

Thanks for the post. It’s actually pretty easy to install.
Any hope for a button under the hood to close the frunk since its still early days?

Would love another harness like you do for the liftgate module if there is any splicing to be done.

I assume the manual release allows it to open but not close when you re-pull it?

Very excited for this. Thanks for working on it!

Never say never!

The frunk aftermarket kit right now as designed has ZERO splicing. It’s purely plug and play. Working on the PDF manual first and then working on the video afterwards. The goal is to educate anyone who wants to pursue this on the entirety of the install.

Even a caveman(me) can do it with help from the boss. We installed it a couple of years ago and it's still working good. You just need to think it through and follow the video.
