Phew - I did get confirmation from the service that they are replacing part no: LK9Z*10C666*B, which is what TSB 23-2020 is listing for the GT HVBJB. They are evidently going to receive the part tomorrow! And repair done by Thu.; fingers crossed.

Will update ASAP.

Thanks @Mach-Lee, appreciate you pulling the code for me. My dealer, Serra Ford of Farmington Hills, MI currently has the car and info from them is spotty at best. They are reporting, " It's the board that controls the battery" is that the same as the HVBJB? I hope it is as much as it does not sound like it. See my conversation with the Service manager:

I brought to the dealer and they said no codes were thrown so nothing to do

I have to calm for an appt for them to check it

Drive it 120 miles to Naples and now headed back

Unfortunately it didn't report so I can't see anything. Charge fault could be a bad on-board charger or a bad EVSE. Make sure you are pushing the J1772 in all the way till it clicks with a firm push, a bad connection can cause issues.

took to dealer but they found nothing . I charged at their unit for 15 minutes and all ok.

I drove to Naples today 120 miles each way, fast charge in Naples and no issues.

I charged up tonight at home after waiting an hour or 2 and it faulted again within 15 minutes

I looked at the Autel charger (as you mentioned, I had thought about it as I had an issue before but then forgot about it), 2 updates behind, even though should be automatic.

I did the updates and after car reset itself, I plugged in and it’s recharging.

hopefully that resolves the issue. Maybe the 4.2.2 update added something that finally gave the Autel issues.

Interesting, yes it seems like the Autel EVSE caused it. So good to know Autel chargers can induce powertrain faults with old firmware.

Yeah the dealership couldn’t find anything wrong with it and now Ford is wavering on paying my car loaner fee that the dealership wants to charge. $85 per day for 8 days…. So I’m not pleased. They said they could only cover it if a warrantied part broke, but can’t answer why the alerts happened in the first place. I live in a very rural area, so not having a car for 8 days would have been impossible.

just got notice that Ford will reimburse my car rental fees. Very glad they stepped up, otherwise I would have been out close to $1k for 8 days of rental fees!
