Not knowing anything about the electrical details, I’m just still instinctively convinced its software related to either location or or max charge or charging times. Has anyone had this charging issues that had NOT used the app or set times and locations on the car?
Agreed. I still think this may be a possible cause. They did bring this up as a possible cause before they came to the house but did not mention it when they were viewing the real time diagnostics at the house yesterday. And yes, I used the app initially while waiting for my paperwork to create my profile which was the ONLY time I put in a departure schedule. I then created the profile in the car with my sales person because there wasn’t any notification from the profile that I tried to send to the car from the app. It only popped up a few hours later which I think I accepted and then set up the profile again using the profile that was sent to the car. I have performed master resets to wipe everything from the car but it did not fix it. Thus, I still think this departure corruption schedule may still be a possible cause. Hopefully all of the data they are reviewing will give them a clue.

Interested to hear others answer this question too. Also, I have now updated my profile pic to better illustrate what we are becoming to Ford. Which is fine knowing that they are trying to address the problems as they come in.

Not sure. But I am guessing they will look at it. What is strange that I guess the same pin is used on the 110 but it’s working.
I wonder how the signaling works. Is it a binary word on a serial bus that tells it to start 240 vs 120? Is it a logic level on a common path or second logic level on an additional path?

I think it is a safe bet the error is between the socket and signaling the internal charge to initiate. I would love to see a circuit diagram of the front end. Interesting puzzle.

All good questions I am sure they are looking at to figure it out.

And thank you for being another pioneer!!
Getting my car in a week or two. Just installed Chargepoint home charger. Thinking about taking the car out of the loop. Set it to charge anytime/anywhere and just control charging times through the CP app for the EVSE. Would that work?

:( New to the forum. been a reader for some time. kept me sane while waiting for my Mach E. I'm having the same issue. Car refuses to charge via a 240 volt NEMA 14-50, Either with the for Mobile charger or my Juice Box 40 that has been in use for 6 months or so on my Pacifica PHEV. heading back to the deal today.

FYI: Voltage across the terminals
Last night: 244v
This morning: 237v
Who is your dealer? Keep us posted. I have had no luck with dealer.

This whole situation is very odd. Seems like the majority of the involved people are in illinois, but the build dates are different enough that it shouldn't be related to faulty parts, but then in some cases a different Mach E charges just fine in the same location. Hopefully Ford gets to the bottom of this very soon.

Maybe something to do with the GPS in Illinois.

Why would GPS affect the charging of the vehicle? All the vehicle should need is a proper handshake with a charger and then start charging.

Is this a Illinois only club. Why are just a few of us having problems? I may have one of the first builds, 11/20/20.

We think the charge schedules are location specific so the GPS is involved.

Depending where you are in Illinois, you can have different electricity providers. @Moogly and I are in the Western Suburbs of Chicago with ComEd. Both of us were told that our line voltage is within specifications yesterday when the same tech came to both our homes.

IN MY CASE, the car charges (257v) on weekends or when the GPS pick my neighbor address but not at my home address. I have access to my charging address but not anymore to my neighbor charging address since I master reset the car. And it charges everywhere else. And it seems that many of my friends Ford cars, the cars always pick the wrong addresses at their homes.

Also remember that charging is location dependent.

This is SO strange. Mine is showing at my actual address and I never can pick up a neighbor's address. I can never charge at home at 256 or 257V.
