The flood of info I'm truly anticipating is when journalists start getting their hands on the vehicle. Not just your KBB or Edmunds crews, but like real EV specialists such as Bjorn Nyland, Tom Moloughney and Driving Electric.
I'm anxious for that too. Problem is we'll probably have to lock our order specs in before that.

Although in my case, I think I've pretty well made up my mind. I know I want the Premium. Looks like it should contain everything I want as far as general features. And I know I want AWD. About the only thing left (other than color) is battery size, and I've convinced myself the ER wouldn't gain me anywhere near $5000 worth of value (if any at all).

The only lingering doubt on the battery is if charging speeds improved dramatically in a few years. Like, by 4x. If they got that 70% 40-minute charge down to under 10 minutes, that would be a game-changer for long road trip use. But I'm not expecting that. Even if that did become a possibility in a few years, I'm guessing it would require a different battery pack.

So I guess for me it's more just making the final decision come test drive time to buy the vehicle or back out. By then we'll have videos by reviewers out there to go by that show whether there's serious flaws or not.

Actually, the POINT of an auto show is for people to see the latest cars and maybe get interested enough in them to consider purchasing them. 250,000 people attend the philly show, so that would be a lot of people who don't frequent this forum or know anything about the E to learn about it.
It is really odd that they don't appear to have a Mach-e at the Philly or NYC shows. Hopefully one ends up making it to the NYC show. That would be a glaring omission. Almost have to wonder if there was a problem with one that was intended to go there?

The Denver Auto Show isn't until April. The Mach-e isn't showing up on the website yet. Not sure I'd actually go even if it were. One of my biggest issues is sitting position, and seems like they're not letting people into the vehicle during these shows. (Plus $14 per person just to see the vehicle in person is a bit much.) If I were looking to choose between dozens of cars it might be more helpful, but I already know what I want.

Is nearly a year before the car is available actually considered part of the launch??

Also is it really necessary to personally make like 5 threads about it showing up at Auto shows?

99.9999999% wouldn't go to an auto show in order to see a car like the Mach E. It will be available to see and drive at your dealer before release. That's the actual important thing for them to do... Not car shows
I would say production should start probably by May or June for the first edition releases that are to begin at end of 4th quarter thisyear.

I have no idea how many they can produce at a time or in a week but since they are already an established company shouldn’t be too hard to reach high product numbers but since it is entirely new vehicle I’m sure the first few months will be a little slow as they probably still teaching the machines/robots how and where to weld things

We've seen it stated multiple places that EV certified dealers (or maybe those with reservations, at least) will get a demo car. So presumably those will be the first few thousand off the assembly line.

Where did you see that it will not be at the New York auto show? Ford usually has a large display there and it find it difficult to believe it will not be there.

That's what Timbop said in an earlier post further up the thread. Said it wasn't showing up on the website, anyway.

He has no idea if it's going to be a there. I won't pay much attention to that. New York is big show, and I believe it will be there on display at the least. Some people like to overreact and are dramatic.

I feel some of the frustration. I was lucky to have a friend that got me into the VIP periods at the DC car show which allowed me to see inside, but not sit. But other posters here are correct given that I’m also following the XC40 Recharge and the Polestar 2 and there is not much info there either - it is just dribbling out. MME Production is scheduled to start in June so I’m not expecting much. I’m waiting to see what kind of commitment they want in the April/May timeframe given that there are prob not going to be any demos to test drive.

I had the mistaken belief that it would show up in philly even though it was not on their website, but it didn't. I expect it will be in NYC but so far isn't on the list, although there is the exciting ford fiesta on the floor if the mach e isn't.

And thank you for noticing my drama.

Exactly. Ford has been garrulous compared to Volvo.

My concern is what the dealers are getting as to information. My local dealer, whom we have bought three vehicles from, is the one we listed as our preferred dealer as they were on the list of dealers we could chose from. I have heard nothing from them. I reached out with two emails to the head of sales.....again crickets. Either they are risking losing a customer or they are not getting any information from Ford either. I at least expected a "Hey, thanks for choosing us email...looking forward to making money off of you return email......"

About a month ago I stopped by our dealer (one at which we've purchased our last dozen or so cars from) asking if they had any info (or even that brochure that is floating around here).

Their response was that they've heard nothing from Ford since a meeting with the local rep the Monday after launch. Granted my dealer is in the greater Detroit area so I would expect them to be the last to hear from Ford (even though Ford is literally right up the road LOL). They didn't even know that I had picked them to be the delivery dealer...

I made a phone call to the sales manager, he was happy to talk to me and told me that he had a reservation also. Email may not be answered right away but when the phone rings they may be more likely to answer it. Another possibility is to drop by when in the area. Just a thought.
