Defining a road trip as any journey that requires at least one DCFC session. I also added choices for not taking the MME due to DCFC "issues" and using L2 charging at the destination.
I voted less than annually since I've only taken the MME out of town twice in 27 months. Once with DCFC and once with L2 at the destination.
I know this type of poll has been done before, but it seems like it's been a while and a lot has changed on the DCFC landscape.

Given how much people complain about charging, you’d think they take a road trip once a week! I prefer to fly, but do a couple of trips a year.

I take another vehicle because I can drive 400 miles non stop and can haul several bikes along with me. In summer that is mountain bikes and in winter it is fat bikes. Or sometimes several grand kids. So Mach is just an around town car for me although I do head into the hill for berry picking with it. I chose other vehicle even though not for the reasons stated.

Pretty darn frequently - we've done 9 or 10 trips that required DC Fast charging, five of them around 1700 mile round-trip drives. While I've passed on chargers due to a line I've never hit a non-functional level 3 that wasn't flagged in plug share or been out of driving range of a back up charger.

Normally, I would say quarterly, but... My MME went on road trips of 600-850 miles away and back... 4 times in the first 3 months of ownership. So, monthly it is! Or maybe more if I take the kids to the Boston Museum of Science more.

I would rather sit for a root canal than drive 400 miles without stopping. But if it works for you, rock on. Not to pry or be overly graphic, but how do you pee while driving??

We do stop half way for a pit stop at out houses but only for a minute. No electricity and no amenities. For myself I like to get to where I am going as soon as possible. May give the Mach a try next summer but why tack on two or three hours? Also can’t haul much. When I was much younger I did several 800 to 1000 mile trips only stopping for gas (two drivers.) All about the destination - not the drive in those cases.

I show dogs as a sport/hobby so I’m always on the road. Not always the most practical but I plan accordingly.

Can't haul much? Mine can carry a family of 4, plus 2 dogs, and a week's worth of gear for a vacation at the family cottage. Might look a bit funny, but it works just fine. But maybe my kids and dogs take longer on their potty breaks than you did.

I have kids on traveling soccer teams and family a few hours away. So I take trips of 200+ miles (one way) about 10-15 times per year. My Mach E is my only vehicle.

If I’m visiting family in Kansas City, I’ll take the MME and either waste 40 minutes “fast charging” upon arrival or I’ll leave my car plugged in overnight at a free L2 and have my parents give me a lift to their house (where I stay overnight). They don’t mind helping me out, but I find it rather embarrassing. And no, I’m not going to ask to install L2 in their garage.

If I have to go somewhere that requires multiple fast charging stops, I’ll just rent an ICE instead. Car rental is extremely cheap where I live, so at least there’s that.

I have zero interest in taking my Mach E on a 4-5 stop trip to Colorado or some such, even though BlueCruise would be great.

Now where will you fit two e-bikes and maybe another mountain bike? Or possibly 5 or up to 7 grand kids? Or a fat bike and three winter tubes plus a couple kids? And - this is the big issue right now - travel over 100 miles with no electricity and 150 miles with no charging. Really like my Mach but for my road tripping the Expedition works best for us. Of course everyone is different and that is why there are so many options! Used to do what you do with a Datsun and three kids! Many fun weekends camping all over Alaska and Northern California.

Oh, well, 5-7 grandkids means 2 cars or a 3 row vehicle, and there really aren't enough affordable (and adequately long range for rural Alaska) 3 row EV options yet. R1S... EV9 if it can have a hitch... Eventually EX90... But hopefully in the next few years, more will become available. But yeah, can't quite haul that much in a MME yet. The thought of a 3 row Mustang that could hold 8 people would be hilarious, though.

I'll wager that "non-stop" means "not stopping to get gas." I'll bet food and bathroom breaks don't count.

For us a road trip involving the Mach-E means going somewhere that the wife is willing to drive it following me in the RV. This may involve DCFC or not since we can charge it up at the campground.

For longer trips we tow her Escape.

At least this gives us a nice place to hang out while we wait for the car to charge up.
