Push Pin Pliers FTW. The only ones that gave me a little issue were the ones on the bottom rear, as the clearance to get the pliers in there was a bit tight. Otherwise <5 min effort.

Just used a trim removal tool to pry up one side, then put the V under the button to finish release. Removed all 8 so I could slide the cross piece out downward. No damage to pins or to center piece. Reinstalled one side to hold 2 day emergency bag. Now have room for a tool kit and other rarely used, but important stuff. Will also store a gallon of washer fluid and the oil needed to top off (OK, that last was a joke!!). Reinstalled all pins into open holes for future re-use.

we should *not* need a battery tender.... the main pack *should* keep the LVB topped up. Short term fix may be as simple as a battery warmer pad, or 12v electric blanket wrapped around the LVB (and terminal covers where the LVB temp sensors are), which could self-power itself if you live where it is really cold... no external AC, or battery tender needed, since the main battery *should* top up the LVB when needed.

My LVB has stayed charged just fine since there software update

I removed the 8 pins and divider. Looks bad with holes showing, so inserted one of the original pins. Just didn’t look great. So I bought 8 new black flat head pins. They look a million times better.

I used Geno 9-18301 pins.

I took my 'Frunkectomy' one step further.... I wanted to see if it was the seal between the Frunk and hood making the hood difficult to latch, so I removed the hood 'liner' that has the seal..... I figure I could put it back if I wanted, but I'd rather remove weight from the MME anywhere I can.

Unfortunately, it does not appear to be the hood seal that is making the latch difficult. I did discover however, that a smooth steady push with hand(s) centered above the latch from about a foot above 'closed', not quite a 'slam', but with good followthru seems to be the best way to constantly get the second latch to catch.

The rear panel cover, dividers, and hood liner add up to 10.5# of plastic by the way!

...not much, but I like the idea of the Frunkectomy as 'reverse plastic surgery' to lose a little weight and get a peek at the cool stuff under the covers.

How easy is it just to remove the center piece so I have more space in the middle?

That center piece falls out when you undo all the fasteners and lift up on the side pieces. I put the side pieces back in without the center divider. I think it will be more useful to me this way....

I improvised a little to get the plugs out. Took two vice grips and two 8p nails. Clamped a nail into each. Inserted the head of each nail into a side of the plug, squeezed the nails together with one hand and pulled with the other. They pop right out. It's a little cumbersome in a few of the lower corners, but it works without buying a special tool.
