I think our Mach-e is going back to Ford. Permanently.

I also note that the post was from someone in Norway. There are a ton of variables that make SW work for some owners but not for others. Is this MachE a 1st Edition? Also, was it made in EU or Mexico? I’ve had problems with PaaK that I think were self-inflicted errors on my part. I’m still figuring out the system set-ups so I can’t yet opine as to if things are working properly.
That's certainly part of the problem. European cars have a unique charging module to support CCS2 in both AC and DCFC modes. Despite more vehicles being shipped to Europe than the Americas, most of the testing was done with the U.S. charger and CCS1.

So the car is working and charging correctly, but all the issues are with the App? Do you have the Ford Connected Charger or something else?
No, it's not charging correctly. This time charging would not start, ring of orange lights and cable would not disconnect.

I can't understand anything other than the customer is p!ssed off. But what are his problems is hard to say, is it something wrong with his car, or support, or it's a user error? Since nothing correlates with my experience I can't decipher this.
That is our problem also, we cannot decipher the problem. Is it the car, is it the charging boxes that are incompatible with the Mustang, are there other problems? The "Wallbox Pulsar Plus " charging box is working with 4 other EV's. No problem. Their support team has been very supportive.
We have 8 years of EV experience... It should not be that hard...
Now we have booked the electrician to go through the installation again as the fuse gets very hot when charging the Mach-e on 16A. (ONLY the Mach-e...)
Ford has in all practicality done NOTHING.The power grid in this area is in a TT config, that is a bit unusual. Ford claims they have tested this.

Bummer.
The app isn't the greatest, that is for sure. Not the worst either. Chrysler's Uconnect is much more unreliable than FordPass but that doesn't help here.

You know it is possible to use the car with great success even without the app. Have you given that a try? I was spoiled by my previous BEV since it had an app that worked great (Ford Focus Electric) so I was a bit disappointed with the Mach-E/FordPass offering. I even was very vocal about it here on this forum but it never really stopped me from using and enjoying my car. I do have hopes that FordPass will mature into something similar to what I had with MyFordMobile but if that doesn't happen then it isn't the end of the world for me.

Sorry to hear you are so disappointed with your car. :(
Yes, we are mostly using the Mach-e without the app now. And the car it self is superb. We love driving it and it looks good :).

But the charging part needs to work. I need to be able to start/stop charging and check that it is actually charging. That is a minimum.

I agree the software is absolutely horrible. Paak is a joke. Ford wont do anything short term to fix it or give us a second key. I get absolutely no where with Ford. Even on this forum I've had private PMs with no response after they open two cases.

I read your post, and many years ago came to the concussion no product is perfect for everyone. After 9 years of making EV's Tesla probably does have a more polished product than a first-generation EV from Ford.

Good Luck

That seems to be the case with Toyota too, so I'll probably lose that access for my wife's RAV4 Prime after that, and the Toyota app is worse than FordPass in a lot of ways.
The Toyota.stuff, near as I can tell, is garbage. They want you to pay for nav, which is cell based, when AA/CarPlay exist. Or, pay for the ability to unlock your door with an app. And the infotainment UI feels like it’s straight out of DOS.

I wouldn’t even be considering the NX if they hadn’t redone the infotainment. The old system was stupid bad. Of course, you can have the privilege of subscribing to up to 4 bonus features for $8/month there too. Some might be free for a year or two trial run.

But, I get the frustration. I have HomeKit, updated my phone and one of the doors in my house won’t unlock anymore on arrival, because Apple is keeping me safe, from myself. Thank you Apple. /s

Did you get the recall notice to take the vehicle to the dealership for updates?

I think the Mme is a nice combo of car and software.

Is it perfect? Nope. I knew that I would likely experience growing pains getting a first model year car.

The charger brand should be irrelevant. J1772 does not have data stream from the vehicle to the charger. It can only tell the vehiche whats the maximum power it can draw.

I'm actually amazed by the Ford's ability to come up with a really good car in such a short time. In just a couple of years they did more than other companies in a decade. If they keep that pace we'll see their truck next year, and a real SUV a year after.

If a few people want to cancel or sell, that's fine. Their choice. Personally, I'm quite happy with mine. It's not without it's software issues, but it's software. That'll update.

PAAK sucks, yes. It was never a huge selling point for me. Cell phone bluetooth is often flaky (not just for the Mach-E), so I was always going to use fob anyway. Got a 2nd.

FordPass is buggy, yes. But I don't really use it for charging at home. I just set the home schedule in the car and plug in. Don't even need the app (it's nice to check status and get notifications, and those usually work).

Yes, the SW is a work in progress. But so far no real biggies for me.

Sure, but Ford has already had one "recall" on their charger already.

yep. Software is crap, I would still recommend the car, but I am not using neither app nor infotainment.

Yes first model year I get, not my first time but Paak is absolutely a POS and one fob Ford should be embarrassed. Yes I did the update months ago. Still its rarely worked. :(
