Is Mach E your 1st Special Order car?

I test drove 2 premiums and 1 GT. My wife leased me a Tesla model 3. For a few days. She wanted me to "be sure" before we ordered our Mach E. The ME was head and shoulders above the Tesla. To us anyway. I cant wait to get it. Maybe March/April 2022 or later. It will be a glorius day.

I definitely liked the experience much better then Y......... Its a shame that Tesla designed such a brilliant car, but decided not to do anything in terms of ergonomics

I have purchased the last 8 vehicles by ordering from my dealer. All have been from the same salesperson which makes the entire process always easy. I do this because I do not like compromising on options/colors I want. Obviously, I’ve never been in a hurry for any of my vehicles. Bellow are my wait times.

Yes this was my first dealer ordered car. Bought a 2017 Focus BEV for the wife to drive. I liked to drive it was a fun little car. Reserve mine on day one and after a long wait I got the car I wanted and had no dealer BS. I paid a ADM on my 2003 mach 1 and the 2007 GT500. Both were more impulse buys and I paid the price. I prefer to order online then to haggle with a sales person over a car on the floor.

No. Special ordered my 1st Prius. Had to upgrade in order to get one. I live in Colorado and at that time all the Prius' were east and west coast deliveries only(unless you ordered one with everything). I still had to wait four months for delivery, but no Mach-E nonsense after delivery. Including no dealership hassles.

Just to be clear, there is nothing "special" about ordering a vehicle, despite Ford's branding of the window sticker. People have always ordered vehicles and 8 -12 weeks later gotten them. This model, combined with the pandemic, pushed out the timeline.

We have ordered vehicles before, but often a dealer can find one that matches very closely or exactly what I wanted. A dealer trade was done on our 2018 Fusion Energi (Wisconsin) and our 2013 F-150 (160 miles away).

Nope, well kind of. Reserved a Bronco on June 2020. Canceled the Bronco in February when I got our MachE. May order another Bronco around Christmas if things work out and probably will not have lost that much time on the delivery if I do..........

Not my first EV nor my 1st order.

It was my first "reservation", however, which meant that it took much much longer (~15 months).

I believe my 1st order was a 93 Ranger Splash.

My 1st EV was also an order given that Ford wouldn't stock Focus Electrics so you had to order it.

By “special” I meant built to order.

I previously bought off the lot or dealer swapped. I always had to compromise on features due to my preferences.

First factory order after nine new vehicles. My CalRt1 will be my 3rd EV (all plug in). My first was a 1986 Chev Spectrum (made by Isuzu). Looking forward to holding dealer to their formal commitment to no ADM nor add-ons. And I handle my own financing (credit union).

First time ordering a new car, 3rd time buying a new car. Despite the well-discussed delays, and difficulty in getting visibility of the status, I still found the ordering process much less stressful.

I also found it easier to manage the sales process since the usual dealer issues (pricing, financing) weren't an issue due to X-Plan pricing and Ford Options financing.
