Took me six months to notice this: above the unlock button on the front doors is a lock symbol molded into the pillar plastic. Am I the only one that did not realize it is functional?! Car locks automatically on walk-away, so not sure who needs this.

Common for a car to have a lock button I use it often because walk away was inconstant.

I never liked the walk away lock, especially in my garage or in my driveway. I have always used that button, but only when away from home. If ford decides to offer an option for location based override, then I might start using walk away locking.

Is there a trick to getting the lock button to work? Mine works maybe once every 10 tries. Funny thing is the other day I had gloves on and it worked probably 50% of the time...

If it doesn’t work for you just press 9-8 at the same time.

I never noticed either. The walk away lock works 100% for me. Now I have to go check it out...haha. I've only had my car like a month though. I'm still learning.

Mine has only worked once since I have owned it. I use the 9/8 combo on the keypad or the walk-away feature.

The lock button has never worked for me. Holding 7-8 and 9-0 works though.

I didn’t notice it for a long time, and then found that it only worked consistently for me on the passenger side. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it free of charge with a module update. It has worked flawlessly since. I had used the 9-0 or FOB prior to the fix…it’s nicer now to have it functioning properly.

Mine NEVER freaking works. Only time I've ever had it actually work is when I bumped it when getting out of the car. I think it worked once while at the dealer, outside of that I always have to push 7-8 9-0 to get it to lock.

Those of us who aren't lucky enough to have walk away lock enabled use them

That happens to me too. When was your car built? I’ve been told the CSP that’s out for older builds (pre July) fixes that issue. Still waiting on my update to confirm.

Got my update this week. I thought the lock button was better, but might have just been a placebo effect. It's still been inconsistent the last two days.
