I haven't had it happen in a week. I have not disabled kick to open and I still don't have a reason for it. Sorry for the lack of help.
@DevSecOps Thank you! I think I am gonna keep jumping in all forums to see if someone finally have found a fix for this.

This is an old thread, but I'm going to bump it to see if anyone else out there is having the same issue.

The issue: Trunk opens on it's own when parked

I'm working with Ford right now on a diagnosis and just wanted to see if, since January, there's newer cars with the same thing happening. Specifically looking for people who DON'T have the kick to open, but everyone is welcome to participate if you've had it happen.

Lately, I've had a few days where the car will do this many times on approach from the rear while I have it parked at work. So while it always happens when I'm within PaaK/FOB range of the vehicle it still bothers me and I'm circling back around to it.

Please comment if you've had this issue.

Thanks!

I thought the fob had to be within three feet of the car for the foot activated liftgate to be tripped.
I'll experiment with that tomorrow. So far we haven't had any problems. The fob stays within about 15 feet of the car all the time. We had a C-Max with the foot activated tailgate for 9 years and had no problems with that one. I do remember having some other odd things happen with the C-Max but nothing after changing my password on the Ford app.

Todd, I saw this post from @Triggerhappy007 who has a 22 and experienced the hatch opening by itself.
