my drop still says unscheduled. Are there many other drops still like this? This process is painful.

Glad to hear it's cleared up.

It doesn't really surprise me they got a similarly-named dealerships mixed up. This is why I hate doing things on the phone rather than online. The chances of getting a small detail misheard or mis-transcribed is always high. A name misspelled... 2 numbers transposed... a detail forgotten... an item misunderstood... And worst of all - no written audit trail!!

I intentionally did nearly all my communications with Ford and my dealer by email, except for the initial MachDrop call which (unfortunately) had to be by phone.
That's the crazy part... everything was done over email. They must have typed "Crest" and just selected what came up, which was the wrong one. His email signature said "Crest Ford Flat Rock", as did the buyer's order which I received a copy of. ?‍♂

Says that where? According to the dealer or vin look up? It seems the machdrop all go through the dealer only and ford’s many data systems are behind in reflecting them.

Says that when I call Ford or check with dealer on the status line of the order on their system. My dealer has no info other than that, and Ford has same or less when I call them. There are so few mac Drop orders that I don't know why they all haven't been scheduled yet, they told me my drop order was number 2, so it's not late or anything. Doesn't make much sense trickling a few drop orders in for build scheduling and then stopping.

My dealer said it was scheduled last week but he couldn't see the date. Then Ford said the dealer was wrong, it hasn't been scheduled. I complained to Ford that the miscommunications and delays were frustrating. They in turn, contacted the dealer and told him I was unhappy with his service. He apologized, but I told him I blame Ford for screwing up the process. After a couple of hours, he emailed me a VIN and production date... but it was for the Premium I ordered and not the Mach Drop.

At this point, I figure I need to stop fretting over the Mach Drop. It will get scheduled eventually, although it might be much later than the Premium. In that case, I may just take the Premium unless my wife insists on the Grabber Blue of the FIrst Edition.

They are just so cavalier in this order processing. It's frustrating. Just want to know that things are set properly and there is an end in sight. A build date followed by a VIN would be a good start. Or, at this point, I'd settle for an explanation of the stall, and maybe an ETA to get things moving along. I don't think they see the value in that to the customer, which would of course translate to a value to Ford. oh well. venting as usual...

That's what I would be worried about -- some little piece of data having gotten wrong that sends the order to a whole different dealer (like Joe's above), or coded for the wrong trim, or the wrong customer, or something like that which could cause a real problem fixing if not caught soon enough.

As was said, with so relatively few Machdrops (~300?), sure seems logical they'd have all been scheduled by now. Which makes me think they probably have, and if one can't be found in the system when they search, it could be because some piece of data is wrong.

I said I wasn't going to worry about it any more, but after reading more posts here, I just fired off more emails. I emailed [email protected] and [email protected]. I've tried messaging people on twitter and LinkedIn but haven't had any luck. I wish they would realize there are a decent block of people that are frustrated with the lack of information (not to mention the pricing issues).

If I get any response from the emails, I'll be sure to post here.

Like others here, my dealer hasn't canceled my original Premium order. I'm wondering how the $500 deposit I placed on it gets transferred to my First Edition since the money was tied to the reservation. Has anyone's dealer made an indication yet what they're doing about it?

Ford Mustang Mach-E Mach Drop Build Updates 1605039217912

?

Most of us want more information and want it now. I completely understand because I am type A controlling personality (my wife doesn't like that my shirts are in order by color).

But this, we don't have control over. You can't let it get to you. The cars will get here when they get here. I have accepted that I won't get it until 2021. I am not happy about it but I can't change it and I have more important things to get worked up about.

Ford communication is not the best but it is not the worst.

It's hard to read that someone got scheduled, and you get all excited, and then crickets. It's human nature. You feel like you've been left out. I know it will all come eventually, but there is a reason we all track our packages. We like the anticipation.

I'll calm down a minute once it is scheduled. Then the next rant (from my own experience with Ford from mexico) will be 'why hasn't it left the storage lot". then what is taking so long across country. Then why is it stuck at the port depot. You get the picture.

My Premium was cancelled and the deposit was moved to the MachDrop order by the Dealer.

Original Premium scheduled for 2/1 build per Ford email, dealer now sees my Mach Drop FE scheduled for 1/4 as well (dealer sees both). Today is the first confirmation I have that the FE will actually be built, big sigh of relief. I specifically kept the Premium in case the drop did not materialize, sales guy is thrilled to now perhaps have the Premium to sell, already has another customer lined up for it.
FWIW, reservation deposit refunded and new deposit given to dealer when Premium ordered, was never asked for a deposit on the Drop FE.

Other than the initial Ford reservation deposit (long since refunded by now), any deposits in effect now should be entirely dealer deposits. And there is no one-size-fits-all rule to those. That's just between the customer and the dealer. Some are refundable, some aren't.

In my case, the dealer and I haven't even discussed my $500 deposit that I placed on the original Premium order in June when converting res to order. He didn't bring it up and neither did I when I switched the Premium order to a Machdrop FE. I guess I should have but I trust that it's just applying to whatever MME I end up buying from him (the trim shouldn't matter). If it wasn't, he'd have surely asked for a 2nd deposit for the FE (at which point I'd have balked).

I too have multiple orders - once I purchase one vehicle the other gets canceled and deposit refunded. I am thinking its easier that way than to negotiate the cancelation first and posting that deposit towards the car I am purchasing.
