My understanding is that all Machdrop's went in as brand new orders by Ford. The dealers weren't even allowed to convert an existing order to an FE.
That is true - but being FEs they should have been given some level of higher build priority. It would not even be funny if these FEs were delivered in summer after all other reserved cars are delivered - and the MachDrop simply comes an opportunity to own an FE than anything else. Ford should be clear about that - again speculation here as we dont know what happens in the next few weeks.

I was told that the FE had a higher priority code, however, last Thursday when build dates were given out (including my premium 12/21) I was told that the FE would being built later with 'lower trim' levels first. I was lead to believe the FE should have a build date released by this coming Thursday.

If they did that I'd explode, after having a Premium reservation since last December. I made it clear I was upgrading from a Premium reservation (actually an order by then) when I called the Mach Drop line. Failure to make it clear that a MachDrop FE would likely arrive many months after a Premium reservation would be reprehensible. If that were to happen, it could be the straw that breaks the camel's back with the whole MachDrop fiasco, and cause me to say "F--- it", cancel, and (maybe) start over with a Premium.

Ford (Julie) even said that the vast majority of Machdrops were upgrades to existing orders. So they knew people were dealing with existing spots in line to upgrade.

I doubt that will happen (i.e. that our MachDrops show up with a June build date). Can one program really be F'd up that badly?

Odd indeed. Not really happy to have to wait longer for the FE, but my real issue is that people who reserved months later are getting build dates in November, but I reserved on the launch night and I'm scheduled for the end of December.

Basically there was no reason for me to reserve early.

My guess is that the Mach Drops will be scheduled at the end of the First Edition run. At this point with lots of Mach Es scheduled for 14 and 21 December already, that would be January.

If that happens, I may try to appeal to them to reinstate my original Premium order that they canceled on me without my permission. Got F'd over by being "awarded" a 2nd Machdrop off the stupid waitlist, so they automatically cancelled my res# 29xxx Premium on me (which in the mean time became $3600 cheaper and wish I still had if the FE doesn't arrive in 2020).

By then whatever building date slot it would have had will probably be gone though. And I doubt they'd reinstate it anyway.

I don't know, I think I just need to take a break from reading here. Really getting worked up and soured on all this. Machdrop is F-ing me over at every turn. (Others too.)

I'm okay with the slightly longer wait. A little miffed that either way I go, I'm waiting until next year to get it. But I've learned a valuable lesson, don't reserve.

I'm interested in a 2-door bronco, but that will wait until I can either pick one of the lot or I can order one with a confirmed delivery... So 2022 maybe?

I was just saying worst case - i am too hoping it will be in the next few weeks but with december almost spoken for (based on build dates mentioned here) I am not sure when these will be made. I think with Premiums and other trims getting ahead in the build schedule, I still hope they get to finish up all FEs including MachDrops soon. Keeping fingers crossed.

One question I am wondering about is (and I should ask my dealer if /when responds - the GM is generally responsive but has not been this entire week) - when reading on this forum the normal Ford ordering process, there is some influence the dealer can exert on the build date - by presumably working through their regional manager for allocation and schedule dates - the monday - thursday process. I am just summarizing the process here not details. So I am wondering if the dealer has some influence on the Mach E build dates as well as is that how some of the later reservation numbers got ahead of earlier numbers i.e, the more attentive dealers were able to squeeze their orders in sooner than the slower ones? Or was it all automatic with no dealer influence? Do the MachDrops fall into this category? Not sure how much influence dealer had/has in this process but want to understand from my dealer - may be he will pay some extra attention- not just for me but for everyone that placed orders with him.

I'd feel great right now if I'd just never gotten sucked into MachDrop. I have a sinking feeling that the original Premium AWD ER I'd ordered would have showed up barely any later than my Machdrop (if at all). And will have saved $3600 now!

Really wish my Premium order stayed intact, and I could compare build dates. Then make a choice between the two.

I feel like a chump for getting sucked into Machdrop. Should have known better. Too much misinformation from multiple sources, some shitty luck, and a bad decision on my part.

Oh well, shit happens. Just gonna have to get away from it all for a bit. I don't want my great new car to feel tainted whenever it finally shows up (sans tax credit).

The Bronco is a hot commodity but given the higher volume, I am sure there will be some in the lots that are canceled after delivery - may be you can get a chance to get them sooner than 2022.

Just my guess, but I doubt dealers have any influence on MME builds for these first 6 months. Maybe after it becomes just another lot inventory vehicle, but I suspect MME build dates are entirely dictated by Ford at this point, based on their own critera.

I just received a call from my dealer with a build date for my Mach Drop order for the week of 1/4/21. I was told he may have the VIN Friday or early next week.
