Actually it happened to me yesterday while bringing my car to a body shop to assess my bumper damage. The shop was recommended to me by my dealership because he was known for being an enthusiast and would take good care of my 'baby'.

He came out looked at it and said well that's certainly different, it's no mustang though and preceded to do his analysis while showing obvious disdain for the car. We had a few more words about it, but I could tell he made up his mind about it and gave up even talking about it.

Your not going to change the #notamustang haters minds...but lets hope they don't go crazy and cause damage to our vehicles because of their dislike.
I really don’t get that. “Mustang” is a trademark. Ford owns it. They can put it on a shopping cart if they want.

Some folks just are jealous of people having nicer things. I wouldn't worry about it.
I should say, it didn’t bother me. I’ve gotten far more positive reactions than the negative one. Just always strikes me as odd when people go out of their way to be negative when it’s certainly easier to keep your opinion to yourself.

So I was in my new Mach-E driving around and this guy in a beat up old F-150 flashed his brights at me an shot me a thumbs down as he passed me in the oncoming lane. Made me wonder, has anyone else received any public hate since having your car?
I remember when I first got my Prius (maybe 15 years ago or so). There were a few people who liked to use the word treehugger and that year's equivalent of "snowflake." Nobody bats an eye at a Prius anymore....

True. When I got my first Prius the folks on my Thunderbird Forum gave me all kinds of grief because it was a hybrid. I remember all the arguing back and forth about hybrids and how they weren't worth it; didn't save gas or the planet; couldn't trust a battery; how a high mileage ICE car was smarter, etc., etc. Just ignored the Prius haters and later bought another one. Nobody says anything to me now with my Fusion Hybrid.

I am not sure it was hate. Probably better described as disdain and a dislike for the imputed values of hybrid owners. Look even today at how many people deny the science of climate change. Maybe to some driving a hybrid back then and a BEV now is perceived as an "in your face" statement.

I absolutely think that plug-in hybrids provide a great transition vehicle for the current state of BEV range, charging time, and cost. I would rather see someone who is not quite ready for a BEV drive a plug in hybrid rather than a pure ICE vehicle. I have a friend with a plug in Pacifica. He is hooked on the electric portion of his driving but not ready for full transition to BEV. The moment he can buy a BEV with reliable 500 mile range and 15-20 minute charge time on road trips he intends to make the move.

When I was at the dealership today, I saw a husband and wife hop out of the demo ER RWD after their test drive and they came out beaming so I asked what they thought and the guy pointed to a 2020 GT convertible and said he’s been waiting for the Mach E to join his stable so not everyone is on board with #notmymustang

It was both. Mostly disagreement but definitely some haters too.

my town has many stuck in 1950. I am wondering when someone will steal a Mustang emblem.
