Got a call from local Puente Hills Ford in So Cal saying they have lots of Select and Premium base MME in stock (on lot).

I asked for prices on a Premium base RWD and they said $7K ADM which is better than last year at $15K.

$56K Premium base is being offered at $63K - so $7K ADM which is less than before!

I'll wait for my incoming ordered MME at $54,975 before D&D = $7500 tax credit by squeaking under the max!

Funny "No Haggle Net Cost $63,561" with a discount of $1 :D :eek::rolleyes:

The dealers that get it, get it. The ones that don't, don't.

They must still be trying to 'make up' for the time they had no cars to sell, or there's people that dont pay any attention when buying a car.

Galpin in LA area had many Mach-E's on the lot when I was picking up last night. Their website shows 36 online, although some have green stickers. I suspect that people walked away when they missed on the 2022 tax credit.

While I was there I heard a rep on the phone saying they could 'trade' somone's yet-to-be scheduled order for a car they have on the lot today.

Ya, I think my local dealer probably thinking - offer the tax eligible under $55K MME for $7K more than sticker and then tell the customer that they get $7500 back so effectively MSRP ???

When the shoe drops in CA, you know it’s bad.

I’m seriously wondering if my small dealer who is sitting on 3 MMEs new and one used might shave some extra off because they know their odds of moving it with my PCO are better than putting it on the market at an MSRP close to the GTs which are gathering dust.

The double whammy of the tax rule and the Tesla price drop is insane. What’s funny is the domestic manufacturers who have strong dem union lobbies and republican corporate lobbies got to write this themselves to screw Tesla. But they did such a bad job that not only did they not get the advantage, Elon actually gained ground!

Tesla has basically halted production on everything BUT the under $55s and the highest price 7-seaters. When I put in an order the guy at the desk (not a salesman because they don’t have those) told me people who wanted other cars were furious because they wouldn’t even accept orders until after March.

This is the biggest corporate fail since Skype blew a 10 year lead on Zoom during COVID.

Correction. I just looked now and they now have 7 unsold MMEs. This is a small dealer.

Welp, I’m probably under water at this point, I don’t care, because I was never selling. But, this whole thing will damage the Mach-E overall. It’s a shame, I love the car.

I've been saying since forever that the EV tax credit was going to purely benefit Tesla and GM and was a horrid idea. I liked the 200k/manufacturer old tax rule.

Lawmakers were fools (hah, that's not a shocker) if they think it was going to only help union only US automakers.

So stupid, all of them, but oh well, maybe we'll end up leasing EVs for the kids to take advantage of the stupid legislation and unlike that long thread, I have no problems using the tax code for my benefit, but I'm not going to write my representative to change it neither (have little confidence in our government...can they even fix the debt ceiling problem soon?)

Solar power plus electric vehicles are the path to be free from government opression too! Maybe that's the angle for the "fellow rednecks"... What do you think?
Yes, everyone should be in a position where they're able to generate enough power to make life at home manageable and cover transportation.

An EMP 'war game' found that the US grid can have a cascade failure occur with as little as 9 .... yes NINE transformers getting damaged. This week the WEF comes out and says expect a grid crippling cyber attack in the next 2 years. If that attack does damage infrastructure, it will take weeks for small scale portions to come back on, but depending on where you're at, it could be months 6 months to a year without power. As it does come back preference will be given to govts / hospitals / and large retailers where you'll spend most of the day in bread lines trying to get food you might not have the power to cook or store, assuming you were able to secure transportation. (don't let the last 2 years of hell be for nothing....)

Personally I've already got all of the parts for a 24/7 operation grid independent including powering the MME with power to spare. For reference, a 2ksqft (44x44') greenhouse can provide 50 people w/ year round food..

BEV's are exceptionally easy to tap as a power storage means if required. Even the standard range with enough solar and 2 inverters can provide you with heating / refer / and a daily shower almost wholly uninterrupted. When my shop is done I will be tearing into my vehicles for many different projects. Of course if ford would allow the MME to use the back-feed capabilities of the power station pro (it uses the full sized DCFC connector to siphon the HVB back to feed inverters for backup power), it'd be quite simplified. A rewiring of the HVBJBs contactor coils can do the same (if anyone has a spare / broken unit, PM me). Copart MMEs are still way overpriced for what they offer, maybe some better deals will pop up soon given market conditions. Just bolt the ER pack to the side of the shop as a storage battery -- that'd be a great convo piece.

I noticed that Sunnyvale, Bay Area had 4 unspoken for last night sitting on the front lawn, one GT, 2 premiums and a select. Don’t think that has been the case before. No idea if they had given up on ADMs yet.

Puente Hills Ford in Calif called me who has over 20 MME on the lot - all green stickers - most are Selects and some Premiums that qualify for the tax credit.

$7300 over MSRP is their price now (dropped from $15K ADM).

They said the $7300 add on will be returned when you apply for the tax credit.

That's a laugh!

They knew I was looking for the Premium RWD base and this is what they have:

Charging problems with GM EVS?
Drove a Volt for 4 years on EV- never a charging problem.
4.5 years with Bolt, still going strong with free new and larger battery pack - never a charging problem.
Use the GM supplied Level 1 supply cord on MME and Bolt for most of charging (direct from solar).
The Ford supplied supply cord trips the breaker (same breaker as above).
My Ford charger cant take the heat in AZ summer. I end of using my GrizzlE or my Toyota EVSE which is more reliable.

Gonna be a hot minute before the mainstream media reports on what’s happening. Until then (and even after), people will fall for that $7,300 ADM nonsense. It’s always fascinated me how nobody notices mattress stores a never NOT having a sale. There’s a stat that 70% of Americans think they got a good deal on their car and like 99% of the people who actually did fall into the 30% who think they didn’t.

Question is, if a serious buyer offers a real price will they play ball. Their competitors are. But lots of people will still leave this lot thinking they won the day if the dealer sells them that line and they bite.

Sadly these dealers are going to kill Ford sales with this nonsense, unless Ford increases incentives which I don’t believe they can afford to do.

It’s hard to change some dealership mentality if the owner/managers believe “dealerships have always been this way, come in take a test drive, let’s talk”
