The fine print from GM says that the 30k Equinox will not be available until late 2024.
That actually makes more sense. Higher priced (margin) vehicles first.

I have high doubts GM will get $30kish Equinox out there soon since they tend to launch with the highest trim ones first and just seems like common sense to build more expensive versions first (like Hummer EV). There seems to be a lot of charging problems with GM EVs at the moment from vids I've seen so there is still a big learning curve I'd guess. More competition is good for consumers.
Interesting about the charging. I'm very curious to start getting some real world feedback on GM's BEVs.

I feel Ford is really starting to smooth out the rough spots on the MME. So its head start is paying off. Now it just has to get the price down. Of course, prices never really come down. Instead, incentives are offered. Though Farley said one price to rule them all on BEVs is the goal so I guess we'll see.

I have not, however this is the time of year when manufactures need to sell all 22 stock. They are very motivated to make good deals on 22’s vs. 23’s.

There is not a single 22 at my local dealer. About ~5k ADM on 2023s for ones listed, all were green stickers.

I keep getting calls constantly from my LA County MME dealer and OC County Lightning dealer about incoming '23 MME that are available and still have ADM on them.

As much as I am tempted to grab one now instead of the waiting (delivery estimates keep slipping back), I keep telling them that I will wait for my ordered, no ADM, '23 MME...

Now I have to worry if mine will arrive by March because that the month that IRS will make a ruling change on the battery mineral/sourcing tax credit....

GM's Bolt came out in 2016. It's a nice car, and charging works fine.

Ford's head start???

The poster maybe referring to the Ultium based vehicles. The Bolt isn’t an Ultium vehicle. The Cadillac Lyric and the Hummer EV are, but I haven’t seen charging reviews for the Lyric. The Hummer EV charging seems to be an issue for some reviewers. We need more Ultium charging datapoints.

Resale value is dropping quickly too. Had offers about 2 weeks ago that are now $2,000 less.

I feel like ADMs are a worse proposition today than ever before. IMHO there's a reasonable chance Ford will realize the tax credit implications have impacted MME sales too heavily, and then adjust prices downward. Similarly, inventory seems to be growing on dealer lots and they're a little more motivated than they were for much of 2022. To me it all adds up to the ADM concept being more outrageous than ever.

For that amount of ADM you can fly into Iowa and pick up a GT then drive it back home. 2 GTs one 22, one 23, listed with final price of MSRP + Destination /Delivery fees which is what's listed on the window sticker.

https://www.grangerford.com/searchnew.aspx?Make=Ford&Model=Mustang Mach-E

I've been against the whole flying and drive back for numerous reasons, but in CA, you lose out on the CA CVRP (if one qualified and that's possibly soon to be worth up to $7k+ for lower income folks actually) and it's hard to put a $$ amount on time. I don't get enough vacation as it is and I'm not spending it flying/driving to pick up a car.

There has also been cases reported here of tranport problems (damaged, locked out, etc). Just a major hassle to me, but that's me. I'd rather just wait and got the cheap Mach-E < $55k so no stress with tax credit issues.

DOH! Busted. I was thinking MME vs the new wave of BEVs from GM. Ultium vehicles which the Bolt is not. Sometimes not everything in my brain makes it into my comment 😜

This is what I am waiting for, if/when I decide to upgrade my RT1 RWD. The increase in range for the 2023 AWD premium + my income going over the IRA EV tax credit limit + a great Mach-E after an initial lemon = I can wait for prices to sort out in this new paradigm for car sales.

New cars are still selling but the used car market has cooled considerably. You can get a used 21 or 22 MME for less than it's original MSRP. I had ordered a 23 Ioniq 5 AWD Limited last March when I ordered the MME. It finally came in last week. Went down and test drove it and it definitely does match the MME's handling, power at takeoff, and ease of use. Doesn't have iPhone as a key either. Just for shits-n-giggles I asked what they would give me for my MME Premium with less than 4000 miles as a trade in. They said the best they could do was $50k because the used market was too unpredictable and they had several used MMEs that weren't moving. That's $15k under my out-the-door price and $7.5k less than after my $7.5k tax incentive. Six months ago I could have sold them the MME for $70k.

Ugh, party's over. Which is fine, I guess. It's not normal for people to make money on trading in cars.
