EDIT: I didn't realize the GT models have a version of the regen/power meter. I thought that bar represented when power was limited due to heat or cold only. I wish it was displayed on all trim levels and included a numerical value as well though......
One of the main things I miss from my Bolt EUV is having a live regen/power usage meter. This played a huge role in how efficiently I could drive my vehicle. Helped me find sweet spots to maximize regen and minimize power draw. I've since used car scanner pro in the mach-e and it works but I still wish there was a live view on the drivers display
Many other EV's by other brands have incorporated a way to see this power and regen info live. so to me, when it comes to the mach-e, it feels like it's missing info/missing something when compared to the competition. (EDIT: I guess just on trims lower than a GT....)
I've always felt that the left edge of the smaller display was prime real-estate for a regen/power meter. it's unused and on the right hand side they have the drive selector indicator in that space. (EDIT: Knowing now there's a pre-existing regen/power bar on the GT, it probably makes more sense to reuse that and potentially add a numerical representation as well......but I'll still propose my idea either way)
I know that seeing this information all the time is not desired by all, so I would propose that it could be turned on or off in the settings/preferences. "Display power usage on drivers display" with a toggle beside it. Something I think Ford should consider more with some of the changes made, I think more selectable configuration for what the driver sees would solve most of these issues where half of people want one thing and the other half want something else.....having choice solves that.
I've drawn up a rough example....I'm not an artist....this was just to be representational. the center line would be where you would display power with a positive number and regen with a negative number. represented numerically in kw. it would operate as a fluid bar moving up and down as you drive. I've illustrated in green the bar moving to positive position.
@Ford Motor Company @Ford of Canada I know you take input from these forums into consideration for future updates so here's one idea for incorporating some additional and very useful information for improving driving efficiency into all trim levels of the Mach-E.
Anyways, curious if others think it should be available on all trim levels, not just the GT. And also curious if anyone thinks there's value in the numerical value being added. Does anyone wish the regen/power meter on their GT was positioned differently?
