Hi everyone,

I’d like to get some recommendations for future maintenance on my 2024 Mach-E Select RWD.

I recently took it to Tasca Ford in Yonkers, NY, but I feel they were quoting me a pretty high price for “cleaning” the 12V battery terminals — $150+ — and another $150+ to replace the cabin air filter. I asked them not to do either of those services.

I only requested the basic service: tire rotation, alignment, balancing, and a general inspection, and even then, the total cost was around $380. I still feel that was quite expensive for what was done.

For now, I’m going to look for a cabin air filter and replace it myself.

I would really appreciate your recommendations for future maintenance, especially from other Mach-E owners in the Yonkers/Westchester area.

Would you recommend a different Ford dealer or a specific shop for Mach-E service? Also, what services do you recommend having done at the dealer, and which ones are better or easier to do yourself?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or advice!

Best regards,
Milthon

You might want to open your manual (PDF download, online, in Ford app) and read it. It clearly lays out the maintenance.

You got RIPPED off by paying for an alignment. Not specified, not necessary unless your tires were wearing unevenly.

You properly said no to the 12v terminal cleaning, a blatant attempt to rob you. Cabin air filter is about $25 online and takes 5 minutes max.

Hi, yes, you’re right. I just haven’t been able to find the exact maintenance interval in the owner’s manual. What I understand is that it’s every 10,000 miles or once a year, but I’m not sure exactly what is included in each maintenance service.

In the Ford app, they do recommend tire rotation, but they don’t necessarily recommend wheel alignment and balancing as part of the regular maintenance.

Regarding the price I paid, I did complain to the service advisor, and I also mentioned in the service survey that I felt the price was very high for just the tire rotation, alignment, and balancing. I also complained about the additional services they quoted me for.

Could someone please share the section of the owner’s manual that explains the recommended maintenance schedule and what is included in each service?

Thank you!

Always remember that dealerships are going to charge you way more for services. $100 - $125 for an alignment is common. Like others have said, you can get a cabin filter for cheap. At 30,000, looks like brake fluid needs to be changed, that will be around $150 - $250.

So, can the majority of 20k items be done at home?
  • Rotation- if equipped at home, sure.
  • Inspect half-shaft boots.: probably not.
  • Inspect cooling system level and strength: probably not.
  • Inspect steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft and U-joints. Lubricate if equipped with grease fittings: nope, not at home.
  • Replace cabin air filter, if equipped: for sure at home.

Thank you for your comments & for the link!!.
Any suggestions or Dealer recommendations for the 30,000 or 3 years
service?
You can post a request in the NY or north east section of the forum to ask for dealer recommendations.

You can easily change cabin filter and actually buy the premium version of the filter (I do it on eBay). Just be careful not to break the plastic retaining tabs (so do it when temps are high)

Is there a cabin air filter that anyone would recommend. Or just stay with OEM?
