My [car] is supposed to get 20mpg, and it has a 10 gallon tank. I drove 180 miles and ran out of gas, more than once. I'm returning my car, stupid false advertising...I paid for a car that should go 200 miles on a tank of gas, by golly.
(That's basically the same as OP, just adjusted for fossil fuel vehicle.)
Edit: YMMV...Where do you think Your Mileage May Vary originally came from? Here's what mine says after ~5000 miles

You definitely need to find the accelerator pedal. It is on the floor right side ;)

The ER AWD is advertised with a range of 335 miles. Mine shows 278, at best. Speaking to the dealer and my Mach E Support Concierge, this is normal.

I paid for a FE with a 335 mile range. 278 is NOT 335.

Please comment IF you too are unhappy about the blatant misrepresentation. I've even asked to reject the car (awaiting a reply).

You don't have to complain directly, but I'd like to know if the range issue is causing anyone to feel a bit miffed.
I believed your car is rated at 270 miles on a full charge. The longest range RWD with Aero wheels was rated at 305

a huge factor in range is how you drive and the type of driving you do. At 90% my standard range lists at 240 miles range. So 100% would probably be in the 260 to 270 range

Thanks. I get that. Just don't like being misled. 335 is greater than 270. I was told it would do 335 miles by the dealer who sold it to me.

Not that it 'could do that', but is unlikely to ever do it.
Nobody likes being misled. Totally get that.
However, your car is capable of traveling that distance on a single charge.

It is a good thing you didn't buy a Tesla then you would be even more disappointed with real life range results.

I have been extremely happy with my range. Rated for 230 miles, but I average between 250-275.
This matches my experience, getting 250-275 with a Select SR RWD rated for 230. In Socal, found biggest hit on range for me has been AC. I usually drive in Unbridled mode /L.

278 mi for AWD ER seems right to me. The only EV promising 335 mi is a Tesla. I just received my Premium AWD ER and my range is showing 200 miles at 80% charge. I’ve spent a lot of time sitting and doing setup with the a/c on which is probably why the estimated range is so low.

Not true. Polestar 2, EV6, Ionic 5 and Mach E all claiming similar figures in their ads on TV and on sites.

Issue is that the headline figures are not achievable. They are almost lab scenario conditions.

Just calling them out, that's all.

In the US at least, they are always lab scenario conditions. I've never owned a car in my life that actually got the MPG that the window sticker said, well until the Mach-E. I get pretty constant 4.4kwh and sometimes higher when driving my kids to school and then work. Its a 45 mile trip and I'm in the car for about 1hr 24min with the AC set to 72. I would say 80% of the 45 miles is at 75mph, another 10% is around 55mph and the last 10% is at 25mph. If I go from home to work, which is about 15 miles, I constantly get 5.4 and higher.

So I've been pretty happy so far. The GOM still shows 270 miles at 80%, I've never gotten it to 100% to see what it would read. I've also have never reset my trip data, which I've read on here helps with the GOM being a little closer. Once I get my 240 installed, I might try and see :)

Worse. I've done 2000 miles in it. Yesterday got 253 miles as calculated range, even though I was driving like Miss Daisy (wife on board).

Not happy with this car, at all. Won't be an early adopter again. Dealer network, Mach E Support team, Ford Complaint dept all have no clue about this car.
You will get the claimed range of the car. Mine was rated at 270 and I am getting 290. Relax.

My ER AWD gives me 200 miles of range but then I put gigantic wheels and tires on it :p
I just did a trip down to Frimley (for the Fully Charged show) and our SR AWD - the worst combo for range - reported 242 miles after recharging.

That's what we've been expecting based on 68kW usable battery and 3.5mi/kW on the trip computer, but it's been guesstimating around 200 since we got it.

This morning was a bit chilly and it reported 219 without having gone anywhere.

Every car, whether ICE or EV is given a WLTP (in UK/EU) or EPA ( in US) range/mpg rating. Anyone with any common sense knows that these tests are done in a controlled environment and bear NO resemblance to the real world. There are many factors that can affect your range/mpg like your style of driving, the weather, road conditions etc. The quoted range/mpg should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Best of luck trying to reject your car for this reason. I have owned many vehicles over the years and I can safely state that NONE have given ME the projected figures. My RWD ER is quoted at 379 miles. I have had it for 3 months, have done 2600 miles and am averaging 4.1 miles/kwh which equates to 360 miles which I am more than happy with. Not 379 as advertised. Should I return the car?

If you have read all the posts here and still are trying to call out someone you should at least understanding what the wltp range is. As you have given no information of when this range happens I would suggest you do a bit of reading to ensure you understand. Then you can determine why you are getting that range and then if it is a problem. Would not want you to get angry in front of others if it is the physics and technology of the car as it may be embarrassing for you.

I will never get the claimed range of the car as I drive it too fast and it is cold here. Below 50 now and seeing range drop all ready :(
