Good day folks! Just purchased a Premium eRWD and will be hardwiring my radar detector into it. I checked my go to brand of mounts, Blendmount and it appears they're still in the production phase. Has anyone had any success in finding another mount? Much appreciated. Thank you.

If you haven't seen it, there is a thread with instructions for tapping into the mirror/camera system to hardwire the radar detector.

Thank you. I did see it. What I can't find is if anyone has found a company who has mirror mounts for the detector itself. Having the clean look of a hardwire installation and using suction cups attached to my window sort of kills that clean look.

I ended up calling Blendmount and found out that I could use the mount I already have from my previous car if I removed a couple of bushings. Worked like a champ. Hardwire installed tomorrow.

Does this work, though? As in, are you getting full functionality out of your detector behind the coated glass? I'm going to call blendmount (I have one) and see if they can make a mirror attachment that places the detector in the black are on the windshield instead.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Mirror Mount For Radar Detector FEAB2BF9-B65F-495F-8FBA-CE79D1F7D3F2

My Uniden R7 works just as well as it did in my Rav4. TBH, I don’t understand the concern about the coating. I get the same exact stationary Ka band warnings at the same exact times every time and haven’t missed a cop with Ka yet.

Excellent! I'll give it a try too.

My results are in....I do NOT like the performance of the radar detector when it's not in the black spaces on the windshield. Mounted below the mirror...lots of false lasers from the car itself. Mounted away from the mirror but not in the black spots, the signal coming through the front is horrible.

Sunday I was going through town ~30-35 mph with a cop coming toward me. When the cop was about 20-30 feet in front of me my radar detector went crazy. Now, of course there's a chance the cop JUST turned on his/her radar gun, but I'm doubting that.

That, in conjunction with the GPS signal not coming through the front window is a deal breaker for me. Every spot in town that my radar detector (Escort 9500iX) has "learned" as false is making it go crazy because it's not seeing the GPS coordinates for that particular radar signal.

I'm starting a new thread now looking for advice on detector mounts, as I've found a few and think there could be a solution (not nearly as beautiful as the BlendMount though. :-( )
