Now that MY 23.5 has been release, let's speculate about what we would want to see in MY 24 models.

Here is my wishlist:
  1. Better and more responsive software - hopefully if these cars move to Android from Sync they would perform better.ea
  2. A return of features taken away from previous model years. The chip shortage is over so we can hopefully get park assist and hands free liftgate back
  3. Ventilated seats
  4. A sentry mode
  5. Higher resolution backup cameras
  6. Faster charging - faster charging curve
I'll add:

7. Front bumper OEM tow ring + mount.
8. Rear bumper OEM tow ring + mount.
9. Trunk OEM front cargo rings.

NOTE: numbers 7, 8 and 9 are already designed and produced by Ford except for North America, their largest and home market

10. A better design for the mainsail-like charging port cover, with less flex in its hinge to eliminate risk of hitting / denting the front quarter panel under wind or hand pressure.
11. A better quality portable OEM EVSE.
12. Pet mode for the cabin.

I'd be willing to pay for a hardware upgrade if that was an option. I think they'll keep the same screen hardware but just bump the internal processors for it. I don't have a big issue with the current infotainment TBH since 95% of it is just using Apple Carplay and it works well for that. However, the UI lag is something that I'd like to eliminate if given an option.

I wouldn't expect anything significant until after Ford rolls out other BEVs on a common platform. They need to increase their portfolio and ramp up a platform they can get efficiencies of scale from. It makes no sense to rev the Mach E before they get other segments covered.

Here are my predictions for the 24.

A new color option.
Remove random feature (maybe backup alerts? Because why tf not)
Everything else will be identical but they will charge the same or a little bit more.

Android ? my Samsung disconnects every few seconds, with no resolution in sight.

Rest yes I agree!

Also BC 1.0 just takes turns at posted speed, sometimes it does not read road sign. So terrain sensitive speed adjustments++. Sometimes it phantom brakes. Would love to get that addresses.
I have a Samsung Ultra 22 and it has only disconnected a couple of times in 10 months and usually after a software update...Alexa also disconnects frequently after updates.

We should find this info out in August

I feel like if Ford doesn't do anything substantial in the next model year - they will no longer be competitive. Tesla is having a huge refresh for the model 3 and Y and with their reduced pricing they outperform the MachE in every way.
2024 will be our new car year. If Ford has not made significant advances, the market will have moved far enough away from the MME that it will no longer be a viable option. My 2021 was a game changer, IMO. Not any longer.

Is that really what electric Mustang customers are looking for? More "cheapness"?
There's ample amounts of cheapness in every model of the MME. Never did I ever imagine things that used to be soft touch pleather would become even crappier plastic. The A, b, c pillars were the first to strike me. I might wrap the things in fabric myself just, because.

I don't expect Ford to do a thing with the MME. All efforts are put into just getting it out the door wit most of the modules it needs. I fully expect LESS things on the car and a cheaper price. Look at the FFE model. 1st year $42k and everything they could throw at it for features. 3rd year, a lot of those features are gone and they start charing for styrofoam trunk divider. 5th year pretty much everything is an option, floor mats etc, BUT slightly bigger battery (only because it was the same cost as the 1st battery they started with) and 50kw(?) DC charging. 6th year, they killed it off.

Sometimes the Android Auto issue is on the phone side of the equation. When I went from an LG to an S22+ a year ago nearly all my connectivity/reliability issues went away.

I'm generally happy with the Mach-E interior but I think there is room for improvement. I think they could go with an even higher trim than the Premium, which is more or less like the Titanium trim on other Fords.

I wouldn't like all the chrome on the Mach-E, but I think there plainly is demand for some Platinum level model of the Mach-E.

The problem for Ford is, their Lincoln division is not at all sporty, it is all luxury focused, so whatever the Lincoln derivative of the Mach-E ends up being, I don't think it would be sporty enough for me (not to mention it wouldn't be a Mustang).

Galaxy S21 with latest Android 13 and April Sec patches. Got Ford mobility tech to troubleshoot in vain.

Carplay with iPhone does not have the issue. So will wait till September and go for iPhone if MME is not patched for Android auto.

Looks cool, but if it’s tuned to float over everything like a Lincoln Town Car, it’s not for me.

Some people think the Mach-E rides too harsh, I think it is pretty plush as it is for my preference ?‍♂

If they did upgrade to Android Automotive would it be something that could be added by a dealer or ota to the older models? Unsure what the ability of upgrading to a better system would be.
Ford indicated that it would not be possible to upgrade from Blackberry to Android.

I got a survey today for the Mach. Opened it up, first question: Do you still own your Mach E? Second question: Do you have any pets? I answered "no" and got a "thank you for your time" message. Most interesting was that the link now showed the survey as "Nissan EV pet survey"! Perhaps EV makers are looking into the demand for the Tesla "pet monitor" system?
