New customer satisfaction program: 22B10 - second key fob

CSP 22B10 completed today. Dropped by the dealer last week; they weren't aware of the program since the letters still haven't gone out, but they found the program easily with the CSP number I provided and my explanation of why Ford was providing the fob and programming.
Service immediately ordered the parts which their Parts Dept said would take 2-3 days. Visit today took 90 minutes including the "express electronic multipoint inspection."

My car is job 2 but came with only one key, but based on the production date doesn't qualify for 22B10. Still, I decided to ask my sales guy, and a few days later I got the key! What's interesting is that it was already programmed for my car - can it be done based on VIN, or it came to the dealership with my car 8 months ago and was sitting in someone's drawer all this time??

Your car was supposed to come with 2 fobs from the get go, which is why they still gave you one.

True, it was supposed to, but didn't, or at least I didn't get the second key. And I'm not the only one who got a job 2 car with only one key.

No, they cannot program it without the car. It was in Bob's drawer.

I received a call from my dealer yesterday and my key fob has come in. They said it will take a couple hours to program the key, this sounds extreme but is that the case?

I thought it was possible to program the key myself using the "My Key" functionality in the car. Is this correct or am I mis-understanding the manual.

The programming itself takes minutes (or less) but fitting your car into the bay may take a couple hours. If you already have 2 fobs, you can program an additional fob yourself. It's similar but different from MyKey programming.

Sadly I only have the one key fob, so I guess I will be giving it to the dealership for a couple hours. I'm just happy that I'm finally getting my second key.

I fear it will be months, not days away. But if they make that right and get us the frunk update OTA my remaining gripes with Ford will be completely settled… Price gouging in the 2023 refresh aside.
