So you only consider it a "chip shortage" if Ford has absolutely no other cars requiring chips? I know the MachE is important to us all but Ford has a lot of new models they have to get into customer hands. There are three MachEs within the 100 mile range of my home here in St. Louis that has MachEs sitting on their lot already. One of them is an exact match as the one I ordered. So I suppose I could just go there and lose 500 bucks but I'm not that much in a hurry. Every year there are discounts on cars sitting on dealer's lots, I see no reason why the same wouldn't happen for the MachE, not that I'm waiting for that either though. 2021 is nice but hey all of us good little brainwashed consumers see that 2022 and suddenly 2021 is a lesser car lol. Happens every year and the smart ones wait till fall.sounds like the dealer is guessing just like the rest of us. If there was a chip shortage on the mach e that was holding built cars, someone other than the dealer would likely know, and it would be reported as such. but anythying is possible, and obvioulsy other modles have been sidelined and parked after being built, (F-150's) waiting for chips. The old reservations for GT's probably factors in to this equation one way or the other. Maybe they get the first chips and the later orders (even already built ones) have to wait in line. Either way, seems like current orders and current builds shipping, may be delayed to some extent.
oh, and by the way, there won't be any discounting on these for some time to come. think years, not months.
What color interior does your MME have? Maybe they ran out of components for the Space Grey interior or Star White paint that my MME has. I'm running out of reasons why a Mach-E built the day after mine would have a delivery date more than two months sooner. Are they flipping coins to see which vehicles get the chips? My Premium Rapid Red 4X build date was 6/16 and it shipped on 6/21 its in Kansas City was supposed to be delivered by 8/3 got pushed to 8/19. Dealer thinks its because of a lack of truck drivers.
I missed this post from last week, but I appreciate the wisdom from someone who has been through these types of delays before. If history serves as a view into the future, I wouldn't spend much time worrying about Ford passing on strange dates that appear out of the blue. They most likely do mean there is a stop ship going on, but often the new dates are exaggerated until Ford gets a handle on it.
Usually means a few weeks or a month, sometimes it turns out to be nothing big and passes quickly. I suggest that folks don't jump to conclusions or assume it's due to something they are experiencing.
I'm trying not to panic or fall into a pit of despair (note, I said, "trying,"), but I think all I'd appreciate is SOME contact from Ford saying, "Hey dude. We built the car, but we're missing the <insert name of chip or chips here> chips, and they're on their way. We'll get them installed and your MME shipped out as soon as we can." If chips aren't actually the issue, then say that too. "Hey dude. We built the car, but because we've noticed a number of issues on the Mach-E Forum about <insert issue here>, we're holding the current builds to ensure that this concern has been addressed before your personal Mach-E leaves the factory."I missed this post from last week, but I appreciate the wisdom from someone who has been through these types of delays before.
Going by what's been reported here in various threads, it looks like the last time a Mach-E got a Shipment Date was sometime during the week of 6/20. So, it appears we are at about three weeks now since a Mach-E has left the factory on its way to a dealership.
Hopefully things get moving again soon, we start seeing Shipment Dates assigned, and ETA End Dates are changed from 10/31 to some time in August / September.
Ditto for my 4/27 order for an extended range RWD in rapid red with gray interior (impossible to find in inventory as well!).My April 21st order doesn't even have a scheduled build date yet. I don't know when I'll receive it.

Mine was built yesterday (so I don't have a shipped date yet) and has an Estimated Delivery Date of Sept 8. Just like everyone else on here, I will be checking at least daily for updates or changes. Mine is Premium SR, RWD, Space White, with a gray interior.Hopefully things get moving again soon, we start seeing Shipment Dates assigned, and ETA End Dates are changed from 10/31 to some time in August / September.
Yep, that’s the same thing we saw with last week’s builds. Production dates and estimated delivery dates got assigned as expected. It looked like things were a go.Mine was built yesterday (so I don't have a shipped date yet) and has an Estimated Delivery Date of Sept 8. I truly hope that something has changed, you get a shipment date, and your ETA stays right where it is. If that happens, from your perspective, you’re right - there will have been no delay.I feel strongly that there are no parts shortages for the MME. Any delays, if they are real, are most likely caused by disruptions in shipping.
