Yes, but the Mach-E is built in Cuautitlán which was not one of the idled plants. Full list in here:
sounds like the dealer is guessing just like the rest of us. If there was a chip shortage on the mach e that was holding built cars, someone other than the dealer would likely know, and it would be reported as such. but anythying is possible, and obvioulsy other modles have been sidelined and parked after being built, (F-150's) waiting for chips. The old reservations for GT's probably factors in to this equation one way or the other. Maybe they get the first chips and the later orders (even already built ones) have to wait in line. Either way, seems like current orders and current builds shipping, may be delayed to some extent. My dealer just confirmed the 10/31 or early November date due to chip shortage. This was on an AWD Premium with extended battery. He also said it was built already. If I do get it in Nov normally you'd get a huge discount so the dealer could clear their inventory for next year models. Heck I got like 8k discount on my current mustang when I bought it in the fall '14. Ford should really do something similar or stop taking orders for things they can't even build in a reasonable time period. Of course this time next year inflation might make the mache 10k more so lol.
Ahh, the holy grail of automotive buyer's wishes. Yes, one can only hope that could be the case.It seems very possible to me that, with all the user feedback, they decided to pause and "reset" to try to improve the quality of what's coming out of the plant, and improve the user experience.
Good question on the 2022, doubt any real changes, agreed on depreciation by buying year behind. I suspect by September it could roll into 2022, time will tell. That’s what I am worried about!
I had a in production date of 6/12 with estimated delivery of July 17th which has now slipped to November 2nd… I really don’t want to pay full price for a year old model 2021 when there are new revised 2022s that could have been running around for a few months already (assuming the 2022 version comes here soon).
If they disconnect the 12 volt battery there will be no drain on either battery. One of my main concerns is how my built MME will be stored for three months. Back in late 2012 when I got my Fusion SE Hybrid, there was a similar holdup that resulted in hundreds of Fusions sitting outside exposed to a harsh Mexican environment. When they arrived at the dealers many had dirt and sand in every nook and cranny. Also, how will they keep the batteries charged at an optimum level?
We ordered on the same day and got the same build week! Looks like we ordered the same car as well! Then we decided to jump the line and bought one from another dealer. It’s been a long time since we have received any updates on the original order! Good luck on yours!!For what it’s worth I ordered my premium AWD ER on 4/7/21, got a build date pretty soon after that for week of 6/27/21. Then got a production date of 7/3 with ETA of 8/31. Like a lot of other people posting that date moved to 10/31. Last night my dealer reached out to me via email (which was nice of her since I hadn’t even bugged her about the change to 10/31 deliver) informing me that the vehicle has been built and is now offsite awaiting for a chip to complete the build.
My Premium Rapid Red 4X build date was 6/16 and it shipped on 6/21 its in Kansas City was supposed to be delivered by 8/3 got pushed to 8/19. Dealer thinks its because of a lack of truck drivers.MY Premium AWD ER, ordered 1/22 has a build date of 6/15 and had an Aug 4 ETA. It now also has the new ETA of 10/31. VERY frustrating.
The car is moved by truck from Kansas City Southern RR to Norfolk Southern RR.My Premium Rapid Red 4X build date was 6/16 and it shipped on 6/21 its in Kansas City was supposed to be delivered by 8/3 got pushed to 8/19. Dealer thinks its because of a lack of truck drivers.
Same here, although mine got a 16 day delay. It was due by 7/9. Sometime between noon and 5:30PM on 7/9, that date changed to 7/25.My car just got a 15 day delay its built and in Kansas City was due by 8/4 now just notice it shows 8/19.
