Oh boy. I have a 400-mile road trip coming up next weekend (4/8) and no time to visit my dealer before then. Must...not...buy...Mongoose and FDRS...

The question in my mind is will the OTA updates for Blue Cruise be coming soon or should I just deal with the dealer? Or just do it myself with FDRS? I have the necessary hardware for FDRS but the update procedure makes me a little nervous as I have only done a few easy updates using FDRS so far. Any advice would be appreciated.

Alright, so I got the BC update and the car seems to be driving fine. Except no BC. Do I need to do something to activate it?

Ive got adaptive cruise control toggled on plus lane centering with hands free. I was on a divided highway and I got a little message about BC on the instrument panel, but then it just stayed in the CP360 mode.

I went to my ford.com vehicle dashboard connected services and it looks like my trial has already been activated. Says it expires a year from now and there’s no button to tap to activate. Thoughts?

I think I heard that the OTAs are expected to start for most cars within the next month. Unless something else causes another delay.

Thanks for the reply. I have had an excellent experience with my dealer on doing software updates so I may try them first, if not I will go the FDRS route as I am taking a 2,000 mile road trip near the end of April and would like to have BC by then.

That's a dangerous game haha. Considering how easy the previous updates were, yet gave dealers so much trouble, it may not work out well for the owner of the car.

Personally, I hate having to get a rental now when I leave my car in the shop. It costs me $20/day in gas vs the free charging I get at work, and I'm in a crappier vehicle while mine is in the shop.
Wonder if dealers in Canada got the same letter??

FDRS also prompts to verify the car is hooked up to a power supply before every module update procedure.

Not saying there's no chance a dealer would skip that, But if they do, they probably shouldn't have that job.
The unfortunate difference between what should happen and what actually happens.
Software updates can be a real paycheck killer.

Here's my question, does this program apply to a Select without the comfort/tech package? My previous service (HVJBC and BECM replacement) they performed CSP 21P22 half way (didn't update all the modules as stated in the program). I have an appointment to bring my car in for the Glass reseal and key fob programming and I want to get my car updated to current/correct software.

Why can't these dealers get service right?

So if I’m reading this right, they’re pushing 21P22 to everyone as well as part of this procedure?

be interesting to know if EVERYTHING is coming OTA or things like 21p22 still have to go through a dealer.

Selects need the tech package to get BC. So I assume it wouldn’t apply

This is awesome! My only worry is how complex this update is. When I brought my car in to have 21P22 done they did 5 of the 12 modules and then tried to get out of doing anything else. I don’t think they ever read the instructions. I could see them laughing me out of the service department with this list.
It's stories like this that make me want to just wait for the OTA. Frankly, I trust the Ford engineers more than I trust the dealer techs.

Have an appointment 4-25 for the glass recall. If I don't have the OTAs by then I will inquire about this then

If you hav BC after dealer update then it’s done… at least there is a way to check versus no way to know with prior updates
