I'm not sure we can say "Ford" as a whole entity. Some dealers are having more success than others...I think based on the skill and knowledge of their techs. When I went the first time, the dealership claimed everything went really well and I got my car back in a day and a half. I got there, Sync 244, and no lane centering. Finally, I convinced them that this forum is actually full of knowledgable people and printed out a bunch of stuff for them and on a second visit (another day and a half) Sync 421 and BlueCruise. This also came in junction with the updated instructions for 21G01 and updated modules through FDRS. So, it's not been smooth at all, I get it. But it is possible with the right group working on the car. Dealers are stuck in the old ways of doing things. They still offer me oil changes on a regular basis.
Ford told me they found the issue with my car and the dealer would not have found it, nor would they be able to fix it on there own. I now have to wait for them to contact the dealer and walk them through the process to fix it.

In the meantime I received 2.8.2 and 2.8.3 telling me I have BC and after 2.8.3 it updated Sync to 421. Lane keeping is still broken, it worked fine prior to going to the dealer.

Looks like you're all set with the big stuff.

What about the small details? You need to turn on cruise control AND lane centering via the steering wheel controls, and be on a relatively straightaway portion of I-10.

Is there a way you can safely take a photo of your instrument cluster while you're on I-10? It will be helpful to know the color of the lane keeping system icon (bottom row, between the odometer and the READY message).

Ok, this all looks correct, too. The green lane keep icon indicates that the lane keep system is enabled and it is tracking the lane markers and you are properly between them.

The markers around the large/centered car visualization are indicating you have adaptive cruise control enabled with lane centering enabled and currently functioning.

Your set speed is well within hands-free limits. Your roadway is plenty straight enough. You're not in an exit/on ramp or interchange. Your earlier post shows hands-free mode is set up.

... I have no idea why you're not getting hands-free... You may need to bring it back to the dealer, sadly. :(

Anyone else have other suggestions?

FWIW my car had the same symptoms after some dealer attempts to install 21G01. One more visit, and some backend help from Ford and they got it working.

I'd take it back and ask them to resolve this. I'd do this because I don't think we have had any cars cure themselves of this set of symptoms on their own or through OTA...

Alright everyone help me out. Spent a few days at the dealer. Got all the updates completed. Today I got the “Bluecruise” available message in the app and I thought it was ready. Tested on I10 today and there is no option to use, no icons, nothing. Attached picture of everything in place. What am I missing
Sorry if obvious, but are you sure this is an approved BlueCruise road? It sounds like you should have all you need.

It is, there are other Mach E's in the area that use the same paths and theirs work but they were "beta" testers.

Third what?
*Third week+ long visit to the dealer for a total of over a month. The next MME that goes to that dealer for BC should be in and out in 2 days.

Got this email from the Service Manager today...

Mr. Thomas -- All the
programing was successful,
our tech took a short road
test & utilized the BlueCruise
system - it is working as it
was designed.

It took a Ford Field Engineer working with Ford Engineering in Dearborn a full day's work yesterday to get it from a stuck 1.7.1 status to BlueCruise. I can only guess the dealership's one EV certified tech did get something accomplished during the previous days before the Field Engineer got involved, too.

Will pick it up later today. Want to thank @generaltso for all the VIN checks to see the status of updates through this 25 day ordeal, @louibluey a local Mach-e owner who offered to do the updates but I deferred determined my dealership do it (dammit!) and a person with connections to Ford who stepped in to get this thing done!

Maybe what they learned from my Mach-e with an early March, 2021 build date, will help others get unstuck and updated to BlueCruise.

Now, the question is, do I leave auto-updates off? Could any OTA updates happening now for people who do not have BlueCruise, screw up mine which already has it?

Hey there. I just picked my car up from the dealer where 21G01 was supposed to be installed. Is there a way to confirm it has?
I ask because I see no BlueCruise options at all, and on top of that when I try to just activate the adaptive cruise and lane centering… although I see the two green lines around my car it says “active drive assistant is not available”

something seems borked.

Just got my car back from the dealership, after two weeks I have bluecruise enabled. Question for those that also had issues when you go to software updates what is your car saying my still says that the last power up was the 1.71 however I am on sync 4 revision 421 22095. Should I leave the auto updates enabled or is the consensus that everything should be good to go to receive future updates.

If it is like mine, I have completely lost the lane keeping, sounds like yours has too. My message says BlueCruise Not Available when I push the lane keeping button after ACC engages. No blue bubble, just the green and red lane warning lines. After 21G01 install, I had Sync 415 and no Hands Free lane centering menu. Then after getting OTA 2.8.3, Sync went to 421 and I now have the Hands Free lane centering menu, but it does not work.
