Alrighty so it was another GWM update. It appears all of the software now has the same suffix in the part number so that is interesting...Maybe we'll get some updates of substance next time? It took me forever to get the first update so I figure it'll be that way with this one.

Clearly they have decided this OTA thing is just too much work and have abandoned us!

OR, crazy thought, maybe they said the first updates were just laying ground work for future updates...

Is it possible it shows up in FDRS, IDS, PDS, ETIS, or whatever as software delivered to the GWM, but that the final destination is some other module of the vehicle?

Not saying that's what happened... Just entertaining the possibility. The GWM is responsible for downloading and caching updates, and coordinating their delivery to other locations.

Is there a way to look up a description using any of those Target or Software identifiers?

Unlikely considering the software values displayed. Seems odd that it would show a module identifier at all considering the GWM is the only thing that facilitates OTA updates if that were the case. It shows GWM software old and new. I can verify that is in fact the GWM software by looking at my own car via FORScan. I can verify the software has changed ONLY in the GWM by comparing previous saved profiles to a new one I created. Only one strategy version changed and it matches up with the OTA update strategy (second line).

So the -AS in my original saved profile is now -AT which corresponds with the first OTA update. When I get the second one I'll check again but I have a suspicion it will be -AKB then. I compared and saw no other module strategies change. I'm going to check again though to make sure I didn't miss anything. It is a long list with a ton of letters and numbers.

Yeah was just a possibility I was considering. It also would have been refuted once we've seen an OTA update to anything where GWM isn't the module identifier.

Cool, thanks for following up.

I just looked over it again.

From my first FORScan profile to this one there are 3 total changes.

1. The GWM change from the first OTA update
2. The TCU now shows up (probably new FORScan version added support)
3. The RFA has a totally different hardware and software #. This is weird as nothing should have changed with that. Most likely FORScan didn't read it correctly the first time and they updated FORScan to now correctly display the RFA.

We'll see what happens in the coming months... APIM updates are what i'm wanting the most. Fix the stupid heated seats and make it quicker to boot up. The latest release of sync 3 (a mere 2 weeks ago) has it so snappy now. It boots so much faster than it did originally and carplay loads super fast. Let's get sync 4 like that!

Didn't get first update yet...
Neither have I. The question is at what point can we ask Ford why? A better question who the heck would we even ask because everyone I've talked to in multiple departments are absolutely clueless about the connectivity of the vehicle.

Oh well maybe they will have it sorted out by the time real updates hit the vehicles....but I'm not to optimistic about that.

It is possible you both got your update and didn’t notice. If you don’t use the app religiously it is real easy to miss the update notification in sync 4. PM me your VIN and I can see if your car updated (or failed updating).
