Another update… Boo is still making the clicking sound when I turn ?
I’ve added a video. Anyone have any idea what it could be? Regardless it’s going back to the shop.

The clicking sounds like it could be one of the front CV joints. I would look for a different dealer. So far your dealer has been less than impressive.

Thank you for posting that audio clip. I was about to ask if anyone had a recording of the clicking sound. My MME makes that sound too. Seems like an easy fix. Again, thanks.

Update on Boo: got the car back from the dealer today after 29 days. Everything it was in for appears to be fixed so far.

HOWEVER, I think when they were removing the windshield and it broke, it fell on the center touch screen. The top of the touchscreen boarder where it’s piano black gloss has a ton of deep scratching like it was dragged against rocks. There are also a few scratches on the touch screen itself. Also, the charge door is like… half spring loaded now? I don’t know what happened but the door is usually super super springy but now it only slowly springs open about 1/3 the way and then I have to push it the rest of the way. I only noticed these things once I got home so I’ll have to call the dealer again. Also, there was a ton of glass in the car and lots of finger prints on the white ceiling from the glass roof recall. Had them clean the ceiling when I was there. Only noticed the glass when I got home and put my dog in the car. Had to vacuum everything right away. So yeah, guess this is gonna be a whole thing again.
drop it back off, and go over it in daylight when you pick it up.

Quick update. I just called the dealer to see if the glass work was properly scheduled, they confirmed that it was not. So just to confirm where we are:

  • I called the dealership 3 weeks ago to schedule this service for the recall and other updates.
  • I get an email confirmation that day as well as last night confirming the appointment time of 8:30 a.m. this morning.
  • I dropped the car off at 8:15 and confirm all the work to be done.
  • After not hearing anything for a few hours I call them again to see if the body shop work for the glass repair is scheduled, the soonest that they can do the glass work is the 20th.
Why did I schedule this three weeks in advance?

This is one of the largest Ford dealerships in Indiana. They confirmed to me on the phone they only have one Mach-e certified technician and used this as the excuse for multiple delays in the process.

This is not good.

I would advise everyone that after you call and confirm an appointment to deal with the warranty issues on the glass, call back the next day and verify that the right people are involved.
This re-iterates that dealerships tend to fall off the wagon on communication, multi-step operations... aside from sending following service to a car wash. You said 3 weeks waiting. Appointment shows up you get your pizza and they ask you if you preordered the cheese and pepperoni vs just a pepperoni pizza?

Update: they got the part in, but they have to build a special rig to handle the fix, as apparently they need to remove all the HV batteries to get access to the regulator. They hope it'll be done Monday or Tuesday next week.

Apparently, at my dealership, there's another Mach-E brought in for the exact same problem. That's not good, but the good news for that owner is that they think they know how to fix it because of my car.

Talked to Ford Customer Service. If your Mach-E has been in the shop for more than 30 days and you're on a Ford Options plan, you might be able to get the monthly payments refunded. Call them at (800) 392-3673.

Will continue with updates when I get them.

thanks for update.....I'm hoping we don't see many more HV regulators go bad since it seems like a bitch of a Service...

Do you know what the 'differential diagnosis' was to enable tracking this down to the HV regulator?

Not me but I did see an identical Mach e last night in downtown Redmond! So it was probably them lol. But I did get Boo back last night and all seems well! Apparently they didn’t change anything for the clicking but they put the car on the lift and then it stopped making the clicking sound. Tried myself and can’t reproduce. No idea why. It was making that sound since July

My wife said she saw a white one, I saw a Rapid Red at the Avondale/Woodinville Duvall intersection. And a month ago, when my car was in the shop @ FoK, I pulled into a space at Whole Foods next to an Infinite Blue one (like mine). A Grabber Blue GT at Redmond Costco, fresh from the dealer. Oh and a Black one in Woodinville. Each one time.

We are usually on the east side anywhere from Bellevue/Redmond to Monroe so If you saw a red one with black stripes then that’s my husband lol! I’ve been seeing a ton more Maches recently in the area!

I don't think the one I saw had black stripes. Does he have the car back yet?

Looks like I will be going through the same prolonged repair as you. Car has been at the dealer for 21 days now. No update or estimate as to when they will look at it let alone fix it. When I first bought it I thought it comforting that compared to say Tesla we have several Ford dealerships and therefor should a problem arise I would be able to count on local service. Clearly this is not the case concerning this car. If I had to guess I would say the dealership does not have the inhouse expertise and Ford Canada is not supporting them very much.
With the holidays coming up looks like I won't be getting back behind the wheel for sometime. Very dissappointed with how things are turning out with this purchase.
