Thanks for you detailed story. I am very much thinking of going the same way. Including the GV60. Although they say they won't be available in my state for quite some time. I am satisfied with the MME, but always feels there is something just a bit better out there waiting for me. Coming from a long history of BMW, including two i3, I miss the confidence and service departments associated with premium automobiles. Thanks again, Tim

The 12V went dead in my GV60 this morning. Go ahead, let me have it 😏 Used a portable jump starter and it came back to life right away.

Took it out to NYC yesterday. The suspension soaks up the crappy roads like nothing. Very pleased with the ride quality. Per the app it updated the HV battery status at 1AM this morning for some odd reason, and when I went to plug the car in at 8AM was when I noticed it's dead. I suspect it may have something to do with their crappy blue link app or service. It randomly alerts me of doors being unlocked, which seems to me it pings the car at random interval, possibly causing unnecessary 12V drain.

Does it have active suspension?

Yes, though I feel the difference is very slight. Even on the sport setting it still soaked up the terrible NYC roads nicely.

After jumping the car back to life, I took it for a ride and left it on in "utility mode" which supposedly forces it to charge the 12V battery. With the car off, the battery is at 12.6 volts which still seems a bit low. It was at 5V when it was dead. The GV60 has a big bright light on the dash, when on indicates that the car is charging the 12V battery. I did often see it come on during the first 2 weeks of my ownership, but last week I did not see it come on at all. Not sure what's happening or changed..

Korean Quality? Honestly once a 12v is drained down to 5v it's likely screwed up badly and won't take a proper charge anymore. But good luck convincing them to replace it.

The final parting shot:
MME-dropoff.JPG

Admittedly the MME is more masculine but I do like the GV60 styling, especially with these 21" wheels on the Performance trim.
GV60-charging.JPG

The GV60 is a charging beast even on this 150kW station. It comes with 3yrs of unlimited 30-minute sessions.

Congratulations on the new GV60. Hyundai group is doing some amazing things and the GV60 Performance pretty much beats anything out there in the category on every EV metric.

I did find the charging screen pic of 52% to 85% interesting with the 800 volt E-GMP car getting 27.1 kWh (33%) in 12 minutes. The Mach-E extended range pack is a touch slower per @scoopman getting 26.5 kWh (31%) in 14 minutes.

I've discovered that my first stop on a road trip is between 45-55% so it's good to know that the MME and E-GMP charge nearly identically at this point. @Mach-E VLOG experienced the same thing in his old 4X vs the Ioniq 5 in their race to Vegas.

I have seen in person another GV60 dead with a flat 12V. It is a common issue and it will likely happen to you again, until Genesis updates their BMS software. Hyundai already updated the BMS software of Ioniq5. Probably the same update has not reached the EV6 or GV60 yet so keep your jump starter close until then.
Honestly, this was the reason I did not buy a GV60 after I sold my MME GT since I did not want to deal with these 1st year issues. Otherwise it is a very nice car with beatiful interior and state of the art EV powertrain.

Well this thread makes me glad I chose to go with a 2nd MME and not switch up brands. Grass appears to be a little bit wilted on the other side of the fence.

If it is worth anything I just watch TFLs video doing an off-road testing of their loner Hummer, yup $100k and already dead switches.

@ZuleMME let's not go there. My MME still has 3 open recalls. I was worried it was going to screw up the sale.

@chrisGT yeah I'm prepared to deal with it again. Will have my portable jumper fully charged at all times. It sat in my garage for a while. Second time I actually used the thing. Showed 94% when I first tried to jump the car. As soon as I attached the negative lead, the horn started blaring and the charge dropped to 13%. Had to charge it up again before I was able to actually start the car which took like 2hrs.

A little tidbit. I bought that portable jumper when my 3mos old Lexus RX hybrid went dead. That was the first time the jumper box was used. Even a supposed bullet proof Lexus is not so bullet proof.

@Garbone I actually looked for a Premium ER AWD or GT first. No chance of getting it at sticker. To "win" I had to sell mine at over sticker and the replacement at sticker

Right there with you until the sale was closed on my end! (Just sold mine to Driveway also and have moved onto a Model 3 Performance). Also with open recalls that can't be closed because the work is already done... At the end of the day they both suffer from some quality and attention to detail issues. Can't pretend they don't exist!

So as a follow up, because I like that sort of thing, my Mach-E sat on the Honda dealers lot in Dallas from September to February here when finally seemed to sell it wholesale to the Toyota dealer who I think sold it yesterday. They paid me $60k and at lowest were asking $44.5k. Needless to say I’m happy I got out when I did. I have to note that they screwed themselves by not dropping their price early when it could have sold and waiting until prices plummeted.

Loving my Model 3. FSD is pretty amazing to use and anxiously awaiting v11.3. That’s all for my update. Take care all!

My car is also still sitting at the Ford dealer. According to Carfax, on 9/5/2022 they bought it from Manheim which was where I dropped off the car. IIRC their original asking price was $62K. Now at $60K. CBUSA paid me $57K for it, so I imagine they paid more than that at Manheim.

TLDR: The idea of "winning" the game got me to part with my MME.

So long as you stuck with a BEV we don't have to hunt you down 😂 I really like the look of the GV60. Would really like to take one for a drive. Best of luck with it!

Hi Andy,
What kind of range are you seeing in it? Thanks in advance for your reply.
