Plug and Charge Error

I keep getting an Error when I try to turn on Plug and Charge. It says “Something went wrong. Plug and Charge was not enabled. Try again later”.

I have a credit card on file under Connected Services. Can’t seem to figure out where else I should add a credit card.

Make sure you card has the proper expiration date. If that doesn't work, then delete the card, and add it again.

I just tried two other credit cards and get the same error message.

Go into app settings and clear cache. Reboot phone.

If that doesn't work, then go in and delete cache and data. Delete app. Reboot phone. Reinstall app.


Or...

Install app on a different phone, and turn on P&C.

So….after trying everything I decided to call Ford. Plug and Charge only works for the 1st owner. I am the 2nd owner.

yikes. that is going to really get in the way of farley's efforts to wring revenue from 2nd and 3rd owners...

That sounds like a "We don't know how to fix it, so lemme make an excuse to tell them quick" situation. Or they genuinely didn't consider how it would work after the vehicle was sold. That would be incredibly short sighted, Master Reset should clear everything out and allow the new owner to enroll.

Another possibility is that the person on phone has no idea what they’re talking about.

Having managed sw development, this actually does not surprise me. The coders are going to code it without understanding all the use cases. The product people who wrote the spec only did one use case - the new user. I am sure an update will come in the future when it makes the priority list.

Step one: Uninstall Ford Pass.

In all seriousness the app is crazy buggy, also it's surprising second owners can't used p&c. That being said I'm the first owner an di turned it off because it failed most of the times initiating a charge.

only up to the 250kWh of free allocation. after that, no.
