Do you also use more than one profile? For you and whomever?
Prior to the software update, it was defaulting to either my wife's profile or the Guest profile.

I have changed nothing, have done nothing differently, haven’t gotten any updates, and for whatever reason haven’t had the guest profile issue in a couple weeks now. So odd.

That's the best kind of fix, the one everyone gets to take credit for

Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this on my end.
I am also having this issue. It keeps defaulting to my husband’s profile even though I’m the primary driver. It’s super annoying to have to hit my profile WVERY TIME I get in the car. Is there a fix for this?

FWIW, the problem went away for me.

I didn’t get any updates and I didn’t change anything but it hasn’t defaulted to guest in quite a while.

If I were you I would still go through the process of deleting profiles, making sure only 1 fob and phone are attached to each profile etc.

The problem went away for me after I got the dealer to do all the software updates. It could be unrelated to the updates, as @Mach1E suggested, because I also was deleting profiles and Fobs trying to get it to stop. But it is a very big coincidence that the problem has not recurred since the dealer had it. So I think it is due to the software updates, and not me playing around with the profiles.

Thanks. I didn’t realize I needed the dealer to do updates?

You can do them yourself if you have a FDRS subscription and the right hardware. It is pretty expensive so I would rather have the dealer do it. Search the forum for FDRS to learn more about it.

Which software update did you have installed? I’m having the issue on my newly delivered car but I assume the software is up-to-date.

Probably your software is not up to date. The update I am referring to are all the software modules that manage various functions in the car. The dealer can put your VIN into FDRS and FDRS will tell them all the modules that need to be updated.

There are also forum members here that pay for a FDRS subscription and can look up your VIN. Here is the thread about that: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...are-willing-to-look-up-info-for-others.10230/

To get the dealer to do them at no cost, I think it helps to have a case number from Ford that is assigned to your VIN. I would report your issue to Ford CS and get a case number assigned. Then call your dealer and tell them you want all the software updates in FDRS done to fix your problem. In fact, if you can give them a copy of all the updates it might make a difference. That is what I did and they did all the updates available for my car at no charge.

I have a similar issue, I have two profiles and for me and the other for my wife. We set up both the FOB and the phone as a key. When I use my fob/phone sometimes it switches to my wife's profile. Not a huge issue as as soon as I seat down in the car I become immediately aware that it switched... and this happens even when my wifes' phone or fob is not at all in the vicinity.

I had the same issue this afternoon, with the twist that it would not allow me to change off the Guest profile. In the end, I reset the infotainment system (hold VOL- and SEEK RIGHT) and now I can select my profile.

I have found that I get the guest profile whenever I remote start the vehicle (Slightly annoying bug). If I don’t remote start, my profile comes up reliably.
So do I. Now I know the reason. My issue is that the primary keyfob is my wife’s and the phone always defaults to her phone, every time.

Phone always with me. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi always on.

But the odd part for me is that the fob is also always with me. So either way it should recognize me.

And sometimes the Bluetooth for my phone connects, but CarPlay doesn’t. And ironically when that happens, it’s NOT at the same time I’m having profile issues.
Keep the keyfob in a faraday bag and see what happens with PaaK only.

Who is set up as #1 on the memory buttons? Maybe if your husband is #1, the car thinks that he the primary driver?
