Well, had to have my car delivered from out of state. Without my knowledge the dealership being thoughtful believed that my second fob had been lost in transit so they attempted for a few hours to program me a second fob with no success. Eventually they gave up and sent the car on its way with one fob and a promise to credit me for the lost one, who am I to argue. I think they tried to program a regular Mustang fob. I would love a second fob.

Can anyone confirm if the key fob that came with your MME lights up when you press a button?
Neither my key fob nor the loaner key fob displays any lights.

There was a shipping SNAFU with mine. Even though I selected FedEx to me (and, the FedEx tracking clearly indicated it was coming to ME, and delivered to ME) it was instead delivered to my selected dealership one town away. I have not (yet) picked it up due to the apocalyptical snow / ice storm in Texas.
Picked up my FOB today. Whilst I was there I inquired about my Stang which is now several days past due, but "the person who can look up the status" wasn't there. I did not attempt to even push anyone else. If/when my car does arrive, I'll post the results.

Thanks guys. I don't think I've ever seen a fob that doesn't light up to show that it's transmitting. Am I crazy or does it look like there's a little LED above the unlock button? At least I know that my extra fob is probably not defective. Now I just need a car to pair it with.

I see the little area that piqued your interest. It looks like a spot that might typically sport an LED light but doesn't appear to do so on these key fobs. So, no you're not crazy...due to this issue.

Word on the street is that it’s expensive.

Let is know what you come up with
I went to my dealer's parts department today to ask about a spare key fob. His initial response was $250 for the key fob and $200 to program for a total of $450. I then asked if it would cost more to have another key fob made if I lost the only key fob that came with my Mach-E. He said he didn't know because his $450 quote is based on having one key fob to use for programming another key fob. He did not know that the Mach-E only comes with one key fob. He said he would do some research and that I should call him at the end of the week for a quote. If it cost anywhere near $400 for another key fob, I may pass and live with PaaK.

Did you show them this?

The key fob that came with the Mach-E doesn't light up. My dealer said they charge 1 hour of labor for programming (~$100).

I hope the price of $35 stays the same when they are available.
The price may actually go down when you enter your dealer on the website. Mine was $30.91.

And no dealer should be charging $200 to program it. It’s a 10 minute job (or less).

I'm hitting F5 every 15mins like when we were checking the VIN tracking.

They shouldn't but they can because we consumers don't have a choice.

Most locksmiths also have the equipment to pair a new fob to a car. That would likely be cheaper than $200.

Thanks for the info, never knew that. I will call around once I can get my hands on a spare key fob.
