Did a modest search for this and found nothing. In the past couple weeks (maybe since a recent "update"), I've noticed that at vehicle startup, or just randomly, I get a "courtesy swipe" of the (dry) wipers, just like what you get after doing a windshield wash. Anybody else seeing this? Seems more of a bug than a feature
TIA

I've never seen that but I always shut my wipers off if it's not raining.

Yep, same here! Mainly seems to happen when I start the car up after 6-8 hours or so.

This is a known bug with “rain sensing wipers” and does not appear to be limited to the Mach E or even to Ford. You will find that it most frequently occurs when your car has been sitting outside for a while in sunlight sufficient to heat up the windshield.

The only fix is to turn off your automatic wipers (switch to the off position).

I always turn my wipes all the way off when its not raining so I don't get the curtesy wipe. Just put the right stalk all the way down and it won't happen.

Freaks the hell out of me when it happens! I’ve since stopped using the auto wiper setting.

The issue is around more than just the “courtesy wipe”. Rain sensing wipers on the Mach-e are inconsistent. Sometimes they operate nonstop and other times not at all. We had rain on and off today and it happened that I drove a lot. There was no setting that worked well for the conditions. To make things worse, there’s no manual intermittent wiper setting that you can operate manually. I hope Ford would work on reprogramming that soon.

It happens and I came to expect it. Doesn’t bother me a bit.

You can adjust it manually on the little dial in the middle of the stock can't you?

All that does is adjust the sensitivity of the rain sensing system of the wipers. There isn't a manual intermittent control.

Why can't you turn off "rain sensing" in the settings? That makes it manual(timed). I have a Premium with that setting. Maybe your GT doesn't have that capability.

Ha. I didn't even think of that or remember there was such a setting. I don't have issues with a random courtesy wipe nor with my rain sensing wipers. They seem to work ok but not as good as the ones on my previous Escape and Focus RS

It seems to be more frequent since the 6.8.0 OTA, but it's happened a few times ever since the car was new a year ago.

Turn auto rain sensing wipers off when it's not raining.
