I love my GT, I glad to be a member of MME owners community. But I’m a little bit overwhelmed by all this threads about issues, faults, bugs, dings, noises, troubles, reboots, malfunctions and etc. Additionally all negative posts about dealership experience, delivery delays and so on. Really MME is so bad car or something wrong with Forum?

My only issue has been with dealerships and taking ownership and some of that lies with me not being as aware .. the vehicle in my opinion is spectacular!!!

Another issue is that the forum just seems to be 'biased towards negativity' as there aren't a bunch of shade-tree mechanics talking about putting in performance battery packs, "hacked" control software, 1200hp electric motors, etc. - yet. The aftermarket will catch up someday, and at that point all the "my MME broke today" posts will get diluted with mods, how-to's, and the other normal chatter you see in any other ICE vehicle forum.

Here is my response. In short, something is "wrong" with Forum. Sorry.
For sure the root of the problem it's the first-ever ford EV and there are a lot of issues. Many MME owners come here with problems to find a solution and the forum doing great for that purpose. When I picked up my first 2021 Premium I was very happy, even though my experience with a dealership at the time of purchase was terrible. (Thank you Livermore Ford lesson learned, double-check paperworks before putting your signature even if a salesperson becomes your best friend in your life). First what I did when I brought my new car home: google search for an MME owner's community. But unfortunately, almost immediately problems started with the car and my first thread was about that. For many months I was in the Lemon Law process and the Forum was very helpful during that time. Forum helped me to find a dealership which agreed to participate in the buyback process. I am very thankful to the people who created this Forum and to the members who shared their experiences and suggestions. All my respect to you.
What next? The future of the forum is to become a complaint library?
I love my GT. I like to read about DIY projects or about wrapups, I like discussions about current and future @AOSK products, I like to see pictures with aftermarket wheels or other mods, I like write-ups about KW V3 coilovers installation and other stuff like this, I like meetups and real-life events. But all of this is drowning in waves of complaint threads. It is very frustrating to open the Forum and see only posts about troubles and issues. Many years ago in my country, I was a member of BMWForum and I had a wonderful experience. We knew that BMW is expensive to own, had issues and etc, but if someone will come and told us that BMW is the trash we will beat him to the "death" (it's a joke ).
Dear members create posts and share your positive experience, show your cars with or without mods, attach pictures with new wheels, new wraps, and stripes, lets schedule meetups, and create real-life events. Ford First-ever EV car! Imagine this. My thoughts I'm so lucky that I live in this great time. Like my father when the ICE Mustang was presented. Ford brought to life this beautiful car and we have all power to make this car a LEGEND ☝.

I think you will find that those who actually make their way onto the forums do so for 1 of 2 reasons. 1) They are new customers or potentially new customers excited about their vehicles and or are looking for all the information they can find out about it. 2) They found an issue or something that they perceive to be an issue and are looking for a forum to ask questions about it.

Those who are just happy customers rarely go out of their way to join a forum to just gush over how cool and great their car is, and if they do, they do so because they started out as forum members as a result of item #1 or #2. ? But by far folks come here looking for answers to questions or complaints they have about the vehicle.. that's just the nature of product forums and if you join any other vehicle forum I'm sure you will find the same thing there as well.

I took Scarlett to the car wash today. I rehearsed putting her in neutral and opening the door without her going into park before I went. I showed the guy at the car wash, and he did it just fine. She came out of the wash, and they vacuumed out all of my dog's hair. Now she's shiny and clean.

Tonight I got a compliment pulling into the DSW parking lot. A lady said how beautiful and distinctive my car was. She had a nondescript white mercedes SUV.

No issue with my gorgeous car today. or yesterday. or last week.

Unfortunately it's not riveting reading.

I love the MME forum!
Besides sharing our products and discussing products with owners in this forum, I also spend a lot of time reading all kinds of threads in this forum when i got time, MME owners are mostly very professional in some areas. And the thing that i love the most is that owners here always share their professional knowledge in all kinds of areas toward all kinds of topics.

I’d say it isn’t a bad car. It’s this forum as representative of several issues, most of which have been pointed out above. It I’ll add my voice anyway.

1. for most of us, this is a first electric car. There’s lots to learn (huge amount) so we found a place to ask questions… many of which look like a complaint due to a lack of understanding on the question askers part.

2. It’s a first year model. So it has quirks, in addition to electric vehicle differences. More people complaining about things / asking questions.

3. Software is hard. People expect things to work as advertised and they don’t. FordPass doesn’t sync well with the car, the numbers shown in FordPass may not be realistic. Charge settings placed in FordPass may not sync with the car. GPS may misread things. Most of this never mattered in our past cars, so we show up here to ask about it / complain.

4. There are a couple problems, for which TSBs have been forthcoming and fixed made. 18 months ago we had wind noise and driver’s doors that wouldn’t open without opening another door first. These were identified, in large part due to conversations here, and subsequently fixed.

5. I think our community inflates small issues due to high expectations. It’s an expensive car and people want Luxury car perfection. The B&O sound system doesn’t sound like I want it to. Is that a car problem? Or is that a me problem? I asked. If this was a $20K Corolla I wouldn’t have even asked. So I think our higher expectations result in more mundane concerns looking like “complaints.”

6.There’s a lot of new tech. Does blue cruise hanging to the left side of the lane indicate a big? A problem? A fault? Or just something some of us don’t like? So more complaints / questions over things that may be working as designed but some don’t like.

7. Lastly, nobody has ever been drawn to a car forum by googling “my car is awesome and I want to find a community of other people who own this car that I can tell about my car.” People find the forum by googling “Mach-E drivers door not opening,” or Mach-E not charging at EV-Go.” “Mach-E radio poor sound?” So most forum traffic are people looking up their concerns or questions.

We are a good resource to help you sort your issues, but most all of them are minor inconveniences or misunderstandings. Can’t wait for all the “my range disappeared” threads that will start any moment now. I have made a few threads celebrating my cars, and I’ve gotten help with a couple issues. Currently driving around with a damaged HVBJB but thanks to this forum I knew exactly what to do to start the process of getting it replaced.
Good response.

Quick question - your blue cruise pulls to the left? Mine likes to hug the right side of a lane. I Lmost wish, if it has to lean, to lean left so I can see how close I am to cars in the next lane.

This has already been said but.... I've owned 30 cars of a whole lot of different brands/models. Subarus, Nissans, BMWs, Chevrolets, Fords, Mercedes...all the forums are the same with new models. The idea that the majority of the content should or even could be mostly people happy with their vehicles instead of mostly people bringing up a concern really just goes against human nature. We (humans) don't work that way from a behavior perspective, statistically speaking. By the numbers, if a person is happy, a person is quiet in their happiness. If a person is unhappy, they are loud about their displeasure. You hear the displeasure.

True, but I feel like one could make a list that long or longer for pretty much any car. I’ve had at least as many issues with my 2012 Sonata (up to and including having the engine replaced under a recall after it seized while doing 70mph on the highway!) and the buttons on my steering wheel either A) not working or B) randomly performing different functions. Sometimes the stereo locks up and you can’t even turn it off or change volume without turning off the car completely. And yet still I consider it to have been a fairly reliable car.

These are complex machines designed, tested and built in high volumes in an imperfect world by imperfect human beings. The thing with the MME (and other EVs) is that much of that complexity is now software instead of mechanical, which is a double-edged sword.

It’s generally faster and easier to fix a software issue than a mechanical one (especially once you’ve produced a few hundred thousand) but it’s also faster and easier to break things too! ?
That’s the thing. My last 3 cars? Didn’t have a list at all.

02 Trans Am- power window went out after 6 years of ownership. Zero warranty claims. Clutch was worn after 6 years but that’s my fault (added 150 hp to it with mods).

07 G35- one recall, zero other issues

15 Chevy SS- one recall (power steering), zero other issues.

Never owned a car with so many random odd things that go wrong. The software is just plain buggy. Sure, any car can break, but never seen one with so many bugs.

But the good news? The software is constantly getting better.

At the end of the day, I’m GLAD the forum is like it is.

It’s like an HONEST review. Seems some people would prefer it be more like Amazon with 5,000 fake 5 star reviews and a handful of 1 star.

Me? I want to know about the 2-4 star reviews. That’s where the truth lies.

I can only speak for myself. If you look at the 48 topics that I've created you'll notice that they are all investigative or informative in nature. When there's a problem I always encourage people to help find a solution.

There's a lot of hyperbole and click baiting going on and I think that's because people just want affirmation. There's plenty of members on any forum that will pick a side and a lot of people title things to elicit a strong response. Isn't the title of your topic here technically the exact same thing you're complaining about?

On the flip side, there's also a bunch of Ford apologists here who will defend everything Ford does, right or wrong. You mention that if someone said something bad on other forums you would attack them. That's just as bad, if not worse than what you describe here. With an attitude like that change doesn't happen and the community becomes siloed. Just look at the comment section of Teslarati, it's disgusting and a perfect example of how they've silenced opposing opinions.

No one and no car is perfect. We should embrace the problems and help each other find solutions. We shouldn't attack people or defend Ford to no end. It's just a car and the community of people, and friends we've made hold much higher value.

I think when people pay 50, 60 70K for a car they expect some quality and support from the manufacturer. The MME probably needed another year of testing before releasing to production.

These are early adopter issues. There are plenty of good dealers out there that still care about customers. I ran into one when my MME died at 116 degrees in El Centro CA. They went above and beyond to help me and I didnt buy my car from the.
You make a great point. We have all paid $50K to $70 K+ to beta test an amazing car. So yes, owners will have issues with design flaws that should have been caught before production.

OP, can you name the dealer that was so helpful? We should acknowledge the good ones as well as the bad ones.

El Centro Ford in El Centro California. Rented me an SUV to continue my trip in case they couldn't resolve the charging issue. All this on a walk in Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
