I am hoping this time-consuming repair will trigger a free loaner...
Not all dealers have loaners, usually due to insurance requirements. You may get set up with a rental. May.
This has certainly crossed my mind. 38,000miles on my FE without issue....

I never even got the windshield/roof recall completed. Mostly because my dealer didn't want to do it.
Likewise. I’m waiting for the letter so I can see how the only dealer on island weasels out of yet another recall on a car they sold.

Dropped the car off this morning. Initially, they told me half a day. But then the EV tech came and he said it’s a 1.5 day job, given 100+ bolts. He seemed knowledgeable and described high level what he’s going to do with the car which was what Prof Kelly from Weber did in his demo video. Fingers crossed.

Did they have your parts in stock? My dealer said they would not order the parts until I bought the car in.
I called them the day Ford announced that parts can be ordered. The dealer ordered parts using the 5-day lead time guidance and without needing my vehicle. When I arrived, I asked if the parts were there and they confirmed that they have them.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the letter that stated a rental would be covered for the recall? I can't find the notification in the app and the dealer is stated a rental is not covered. thank you

That is not right for the recall. I made my appointment and they ordered the parts.
I agree, @737flyer. There is no ambiguity what is required for the recall. Ford has very specific instructions. Might be worth another call so you’re not waiting 5 days without a car.

don't need letter. Dealer knows. If they refuse, go to war, if that suits you. Otherwise find a different dealer (mine offered a loaner w/o me asking, ordered parts and we allowed extra time[ more than the five days] due to holidays to schedule appointment). No reason to leave car at dealership until parts arrive.

Mine tried to play dumb, offering to drop me off via shuttle ?. Told them that Ford is reimbursing you for two days of rental and time to pickup / drop off the car. They caved right away.
