Now I was very disappointed when I took delivery of my wonderful new car in mid-Feb this year. Indeed, I was surprised that it came not with the latest software that was already pushed out as an update to older cars. Yes - a brand new car came to the customer with an old software version.
Not only that - the update I am referring to is the one that supposedly speeds up the 81%-100% charging from the meagre 7kW to some 50kW. That was important to me.
So I started chasing Ford through the dealer I bought the car from. Three-and-a-half months later (after a number of back-and-forth mails and "information" that it was "going to be pushed as an OTA update really shortly") I got from them the update code which was FSA 21P22. Armed with that information I contacted a different Ford outfit to schedule the update.
Turned out that my car was within a batch that was subject to a RECALL . Wonderful!!! And I only found out because I was pushing for the update.
OK. Today I got the update. Then I needed to sign a red A4 sheet of paper that my car was subject to a recall which still has no fix and I was informed of that fact. WHAT ?!?!
NOW: I logon to my Ford account on the web. It says (as it had been saying) NO RECALL. Neither the web interface, nor the FordPass app appear to have logged the service the car has just undergone, nor that any update was made to anything. Bewildering!
How am I to actually know that anything had indeed been updated or done to the car? Neither a central system, not the memory of my car appears to have registered any action.
The staff I dealt with were very professional, polite and courteous! This is not aimed at the crew that serviced he car - this is directed at Ford!
Is my Mach-E subject to a recall or not?
How can I tell 1.) that anything has been done to the vehicle, especially the software and control system and 2.)what version of the software is presently installed on my vehicle?
Why is there no trace in the logs that any action was taken?
How are customers notified that their vehicle might be subject to a recall ?
Any help would be most appreciated!
