I decided to keep mine just in case I ever have a charge issue. I’d rather not have ford argue with me that it’s because of my non-ford charger.

Problem is that I actually do want a mobile charger that I can use with Nema 14-30 outlets, as we have people we visit who have those plugs ??‍♂
I got an inexpensive adjustable amperage EVSE on Amazon and a bunch of adapters for that exact purpose. The EVSE has a 14-50 plug, but can choose 10, 16, 20, 24 or 32 amps and works on 120v or 240v. It's a great travel companion with everything in a duffel bag in the frunk. Some of the EVSE's come with an adapter kit as a full package. Keep the Ford EVSE as a backup in the trunk while traveling.

All you can do is try. Might be hard to return used electronics though. For the first couple of years the EVSE came with the car. All I did was test mine to ensure it worked and it has stayed in my trunk for emergencies (probably never use it.) In your case I would sell it elsewhere if the dealer will not take it back as you have specific requirements for a portable that the Ford unit won’t match.

Mine lives in the trunk under the floor panel, and is used for situations where I need to plug in when there's no charger... usually at 110v. With this light-duty use, it has served me well, but I certainly wouldn't use it as a daily charger.
I have used my mobile charging cable as a daily charger. It came with my 2022 MME. I have a dedicated 40 amp circuit. It worked great for about 15 months. Still worked after that but dropped from 7kw to 3kw. I complained to Ford and they provided a new one (warranty item) and now I am back to 7kw charging. That said, If I had to pay extra, I would have purchased a different one. There are much better units on the market that have a higher charging rate and cheaper than $500. My two cents.

I agree. At home you should have a dedicated charger. The mobile charger is invaluable on road trips.

I second those who suggest that you keep the Ford Mobile Charger in your trunk (same as mine) as a traveling companion. It easily could come in very handy sometime. I doubt that the dealer would take it back anyway as it's used or try selling it locally.

If you're determined to try and return it, give it a go. That $500 would get you a nice Emporia charger which can charge up to 11.5kW 240V/48A hardwired or 9.6kW 240V/40A plugin with left over $$ to help offest your electrician charges to upgrade your NEMA plug if needed.

Good luck!

Hi, new here. I just bought my 2022 (used) Select from a FORD Dealership locally and noticed that it did not come with a mobile charger even though Ford's website says,

"Yes, every Ford Mustang Mach-E (NEW and USED) comes with the Ford Mobile Charger, which provides Level 1 and Level 2 charging capabilities. The charger comes with two connectors for different charging speeds."

I feel annoyed to hear $500 for something that so-so.
I need to charge since I do not have a dedicated Level 2 yet.
Would you be willing to provide your feedback on going back to the manager and requesting for one since FORD says it is FREE?

The free charger stopped being included mid-2023, so not all MachEs have one.
However, your 2022 definitely DID come with one from the factory.
The question is what the previous owner did with it, and I'm not sure your dealer would be persuaded to solve that. I'd suggest it's the same as not getting all key fobs included with the purchase.

it actually didn't have a price until 23.5 models. Prior to that it came standard and included in the price of the car, the aftermarket price from ford was $500. I got one with my 21 and actually left it with the car when I traded it. The 23.5 I did not order it because at that time a $500 option. $500 will get you a great aftermarket evse (charger). I don't think you have much recourse having bought the car used, but you can certainly try. Failing that, contact your local utility and see if they offer any EVSEs at a discount.

I see it has been years since I bought a newer car... (aka 2009)... I work from home and bike in a city. I feel uneasy to hear these new norms in the car industry:
- no spare tire kit
- 1 keyfob
- no portable charger
I need to vent.
Imagine going to Apple or Amazon and buying a refurbished phone without a charger.

yeah the last half dozen or so cars I've bought either had run flat tires or inflator kits.
But on the phone thing, I've never gotten a phone that had the 110v outlet plug adapter, just the cord (maybe apple does) none of the several droid phones did

When you buy a used car, anything not integral to the vehicle is possibly missing. In the past, I’ve bought cars that were missing the jack and a recent Ford was lacking the funnel needed to pour gas into it from a can.

When you buy used, you need to check what you think should be there and take that into consideration when deciding how much you’re willing to pay if it’s significant.

To clarify:

- No Mach-E has a spare tire. If you want to buy one for peace of mind - https://amzn.to/3MHPwTS

- All Mach-Es after the first half of 2021 came with two FOBs, and owners of early 2021s were offered a 2nd FOB or reimbursement if they bought one. Used cars come with what they come with, if there was only one FOB you could have insisted they give you a second one or refused to buy the vehicle.

- All 2022 Mach-Es came with the Ford Mobile Charger. You, the buyer, should have confirmed it was included with the sale. Maybe the original owner kept it, or sold it.

Yeah the 1 key fob was my only complaint and it's the only reason I set up PAAK on my 21. Then ford had the customer satisfaction program of getting a second fob for the early 21 mach es (I think up til about June 21 build). Went to the dealer and two days later I had it!
