I’ve had this, yeah. Mine was actually both disturbing and hilarious:

I live in Central IL and parked my MME outside a grocery store that had an EV charging spot. Plugged in and started to walk into the store. I realized I left my iPhone with my grocery list in the car and turned around to head back to the parking lot. That’s when I noticed a big dude with his wife and daughter walking to a lifted Ram 1500 nearby. Big dude sees my car charging, stops, and just loses his mind to his wife and kid in the middle of the parking lot yelling about liberals and yuppies and Biden. I decided to wait a moment and browse the outdoor garden sale before getting my phone…

...and people wonder as a liberal why I carry. Sigh.

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting on one of these so bare with me.
Has anyone noticed an increase in what seems like aggressive driving and/or road rage directed at you when you're driving your Mach-E?
We live in the Midwest and my wife drives all over town with it. It seems like she has noticed an uptick in incidents with lifted trucks that won't let her onto the expressway or get really close behind her, and generally drive very aggressively. Today she said one truck wouldn't let her on the expressway and another one nearly side swiped her.
I told her to keep the non-emergency police line on speed dial and call in the plate when she sees something, but we're not sure if they are just terrible drivers or if they're being a-holes because she's driving an electric car.
Time to get a front/rear dash cam. I don't see this in Southern California simply because the Mustang Mach E doesn't stand out.

I've seen an increase in douchey behavior when on the road with my MME. I've been coal-rolled a few times (not as bad since I upgraded by cabin filter), and generally more aggressive behavior than before I got my MME. There's an entertaining YouTube Channel (Wham Baam Teslacam...see link below) that has hundreds of videos of this type of behavior caught on camera. It's really disturbing, and it really does happen.

I was at a red light with my mom in the car, giving her a demo spin, so we were talking and I wasn't paying attention to either lane beside me. Light turns green and I demonstrate how quick the Mach E is off the line. Before I know it a Maserati from the left lane revs and changes into my lane cutting me off for no reason as there was no traffic ahead. I had to change to the left lane anyway to make a turn, easily gliding past them once again, effortlessly. Dude took it so personally and I didn't even know he was there ?

Still waiting on my MMe, but incidents in my Bolt have been fairly common, getting cut off by lifted trucks, drivers with certain bumper stickers, coal rolled etc.

The Bolt is an easy car to spot, I think with an MMe the car will be slightly more under the radar, on the other hand there may be a new group of haters - the "thats not a real Mustang" crowd?

I don't drive the bolt any differently from the other cars I own, so I'm comfortable saying that there is a direct correlation between being in that car and other drivers behavior. I've also notice that its tapered off a little in the last year or so. Perhaps the most douchey among us feel slightly less enabled, or maybe they are all in the ICU.

I expect things will change further when the F150 lightning comes out. Electrics will be hard to hate when you really want one for yourself.

If you think a Bolt gets more attention than a Mach-E, you’re in for a surprise when you get yours.

I drove a Chevy Volt for 10 years...a car that was made into a political football in the early days. And I never had a single negative interaction. I picked up my Mach E 2 weeks ago today, and so far no bad experiences. 2 guys stared at the car when I was leaving a grocery store parking lot, but I imagine that was just out of interest. I hope your wife's experiences were just a few jerks, and not the norm.

Overall, my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. There have been a couple (like maybe 3) incidents where someone acted stupid because of the car. I just ignore them. When they don’t get the reaction they’re looking for, they tuck their tail and look for a different toy to play with.

A-holes. Immature minds yield immature behavior when they don't like something.

So far the responses that I've noticed have been positive, but there are a lot fewer people that drive lifted trucks around here. Oddly enough my car rarely draws attention from anyone

I don't think he meant that it gets more attention, just that the Bolt has a very distinctive "hey this is a treehugger's BEV" look. Honestly the Mach E in traffic looks a lot like other cars unless you get a good look at the front or back. In profile or partially obscured by other cars it is less distinctive - especially in a common grayscale color. Grabber blue or cyber orange draws the eye for a closer look, but the less distinctive colors blend in.

She's a gorgeous red. Hard to miss, but in traffic I don't think people pay attention to what the other cars look like, just that they're in the way

I feel like aggressive driving has ticked up since the pandemic because for a long time there were less cars on the roads.
This 100% most got used to driving without a lot of traffic around or cops on the road and they can’t get out of the mindset. Hardly anyone stops at the stop sign on my corner anymore and that was not the norm.
