SecurAlert - is it gone?

I had to take my 2022 GTPE to the dealer today because it wouldn't do OTA's.....Supposedly, they fixed the issue, and updated all outstanding modules/updates. In the process, they deleted my Fordpass account and PAAK. When I got home, I reactivated the car - and got PAAK set up - but SecurAlert is no longer in my app. I used it prior to this - and even today - so I could see when the service techs were working on the car.


Am I missing something?

Good news is they were able to get my HVAC updated - AND - surprise bonus - the new UI for the Infotainment system.

I lost Securialert when I performed a master reset.

From what I recall, Ford made a mistake in releasing it to any North American vehicles in the first place... It was supposed to be only Europe. But it sucks to have something and then lose it.

I put in a ticket to fordpass about not having securialert. Couple of days later they called and left msg. It said it's going to be a paid feature 1st part of 2023.

That's a bummer!!!! It was free for me until today. Stupid master reset.....but at least now my car will get OTA's and it's currently up to date.

Same thing happened to my 2021 job 2 MME. As soon as they did a master reset the securialert went away for good.

Guys, Ford is super interested in our thoughts about SecuriAlert.... anybody else get the survey?

My favorite response was: "I don't need SecuriAlert because I keep my car in a locked garage, like Joe Biden. But unlike Joe Biden not next to a bunch of classified documents."

Interestingly, Ford wants to know if it would be useful for SecuriAlert to do a bunch of stuff it doesn't do, like let you know if the car is touched or someone is wandering around it.

respectfully how the hell did you get your dealer to update your car and instal all of the modules?

my dealer literally threatened me that they would charge me a crazy amount to do the modules so I better not do it.

My car was not getting ANY OTA updates. I contacted Ford Support, and they tried to do stuff over the internet to 'connect' to my car. I have not idea what....but, they were unable to get my car to do what they wanted it to do, so they gave me a case number and told me I needed to take it into the dealer. I just asked them to update after they fixed the communication issue, and they did.

They've always been willing to do the updates for me.....great customer service.

SecurAlert has never been useful to me because there's such a delay in getting the alerts (for me at least). I'll be in the grocery store for 5 minutes, get an alert that my door has been opened, and panic for a second before I realize that was me getting out of the car. I can't imagine paying for it.

I really want securialert back, but since I traded in my Select AWD for a GTPE, it’s been gone, and I’m sad about it. I still have a aftermarket GPS system that has Geofencing, but I would like a system that lets me know when doors open.

i wanted to like securialert especially because there is no parking mode camera, but the number of false positives and the fact that the alerts are often very delayed makes it virtually useless...

i hope the paid version at least works

When I called Ford they told me it was going to become a subscription. She said 1st or 2nd quarter on 2023. She didn't know the price yet.

I still have it in FordPass but have never used it. Certainly would not pay to use it!
