What can't really be seen in this photo is the fact the giant LED screen up top displays UNAVAILABLE. You can read it from across the parking lot. Refresh time of that screen doesnt play well with a phone but it's there. Sadly this unit has never worked and been there for like 6 months or so and is only 62kW but it's a start. How hard would it be for the manufactures to put a status light on the top of a charger.

3 out of 4 EA stations in Flagstaff were down the other day. I sadly had my wife point out the fact we drove the Lexus up this time. I'da been SOL if I brought the MME.

They do it just must be broken. Looks for the Green Available in the future.

I the OP's point is that other charging companies could/should have something similar to help avoid people pulling up to a charger and getting out only to walk up and see that it's not working. I agree, it would be nice.

What would be even nicer is if more chargers, you know...worked.

Well, don't go getting all logical and what not lol!

I know EA would never do such a thing as it'd be a sea of red with some green sprinkled about. Most of the reason they wouldn't do it is everyone would notice that they're broken, not just those lucky contestants that wanted or needed a charge. I'd only take a small heartbeat to the connector and to the backend to check the thing actually works. If it doesn't turn off the light or something. I'm pretty sure Tesla knows when a unit takes a dive. It boggles me why most other providers require several calls from upset users to finally flag a unit down.

The station in the pic is the only DC charger within a couple miles, and it's been dead since March'ish. There are 3 other L2 Charge points down the road that are free but this unit is interesting in the fact it's 25 cents a minute but only 62kW, well 0kW really.

The bright yellow “Pump out of order” bag on the cord isn’t a clue?

The LED sign is remotely undateable. The Yellow bag was probably a month after it was dead. The problem I see if when the chargers become like lines at Costco gas. It'd be nice to know your lane isn't broken, before watching others have to loop back to the end of the line from a dead charger. (I don't know how DCFC queues work as I've only been privy to 4 stalls and usually only 3 of them working. Which involves jockying around and attempting to keep some form of a 'line' in a Walmart parking lot. In my 4 stall fun usually which one is broken rotates. if there was some way they'd update that'd be great. EA isn't sending anyone out with a bag, ever.
Quite possible that was actually done by one of the gas station people, probably tired of answering why they can't fix it, it's at the gas station right?

NIce, now if only they could build a home charger with robust network capabilities... Fortunately, I can rely on Ford's software to control the charging.

There is a shopping center near me where the CP DCFC stations have been out of order since the first time I noticed them in 2016. They just got removed. ??
