Hello Ford…Did my dealer lie or is Blue Cruise not available for early 2021 models and perhaps in some parts of the country?
My car was built 25 January, 2021. My dealer enabled BlueCruise as soon as 21G01 was issued.
As others have stated, you need a different servicing dealer.

If you post your VIN here it's very likely one of us other members can get you much more information about your car.

Where are you located?

“This is not the experience we want our………”. I could copy and paste the copy and pasted response Ford gives OR you can just send them a private message. Not sure anything ever comes of this when Ford gets involved on here. Maybe someone else who has done this has more info on it. I’d call the customer service number were it me.

Just want to share my experience as of today:

I took my 5/2021 build into the @Ford Motor Company dealership last week to have the 21G01 fix applied among other things. picked it up today. everything was done, except the blue cruise fix. here is the messaging on the paperwork: "could not be done at this time due to a programming concern with IPC"

as you could imagine, I was quite annoyed so I asked some questions. turns out on January 4th, Ford asked dealers to temporarily stop applying this fix. He showed me the message on FDRS and that is what it said.

I waited so long for the appointment and loaner. pretty frustrating. I'm in the same boat as OP, stuck on 2.7.4. if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.

Your dealer lied. They were not mistaken, they lied. Take your car elsewhere.
This is *exactly* what I was about to post.

To the OP: What makes you say you are a 'second-class owner"? I have no clue what you mean by this.

Take your car to a Ford EV-CERTIFIED dealer.

I mean this genuinely: I went to a certified EV dealer and they said FDRS says as of January 4th, do not perform this recall. the dealer showed it to me. what am I supposed to say / do? (this was my experience)

are you saying there are dealers out there who are disobeying Ford and still installing this?

2.7.4 is the OTA update number... it has very little to do with the actual software the various modules in your car are running.

At this point there are tens of thousands of cars that have been updated via FDRS including the modules called out in 21G01

You may want to go to this thread and post your VIN... someone can look up what modules have been updated and which have not been. They can also see what exactly the dealer did...

Thanks for the advice. I actually did post there.
I understand the OTA numbering doesn’t directly correlate to must on the module side, but my OTAs have been stuck for quite sometime. it’s my understanding that the Blue Cruise fix allows OTAs to continue. Only reason I mentioned it.

That is correct, there is still a hold on BlueCruise updates due to some IPC programming issue. It's been on hold for more than two months now. I have no idea when they will fix it (hopefully it's a priority?), otherwise they might have to extend 21G01 a third time at this rate?

Unfortunately, Ford is terrible at communication with their end-users. I don’t think any auto maker is really good at it. I can’t count Toyota as being good because I was getting information flow from TRD. ?‍♂?

No, why would I say that? I'm saying that if the dealer is fully EV Certified then they will be able to apply whatever updates your car needs. If the dealer is not certified, then it could be hit or miss. If a Certified dealer says your car is not eligible for a specific update then it's not.

I can confirm that 21G01 is still on hold due to IPC programming issue - just got the call from my dealer. I did get a couple of other updates, though, so not a total loss.

EDIT: Service guy also mentioned that there was an F150 update to address flickering headlights they applied to a truck yesterday. Fixed the headlights but now the interior cabin lights strobe. Now that update is on hold. We are not alone.........

@Mr. Mach-E - I’m not sure what you are trying to accomplish. You’re not going to get a meaningful response from Ford here.

You have a problem getting updates. If you actually want to fix the problem, here is what you do:

1. Call Ford Connected Services team and tell them the problem. They’ll open up a ticket for you and direct you to visit your dealership. (800) 392-3673

2. Schedule a visit to your dealership. I would recommend not the one you went to previously. Give them the ticket number.

3. They’ll have your car in the shop for a couple of days pushing a ton of updates to your car, and hopefully once you’re more up to date you won’t have continuing problems with OTA.

I’m sure it’s on hold because Ford is preparing to substitute BC1.2 for BC1.0.
