It doesn't play in Park.

You can actually pull the fuse or disconnect the Pedestrian ALert Control Module (PACM) and disable the IPC warning with forscan. Unfortunately, pulling the fuse requires removing the frunk and disconnecting the PACM requires removing the trim from the left rear trunk area. Both procedures are irritating. Prevents water intrusion into the speaker harness or purchasing anything extra (if you have forscan and the adapter for programming). I won't tell you how, but youtube has the procedure for the Powerboost F150... I didn't do it on mine besides to test. I see value in it being enabled.
Well, my car makes a lot of noise in park.

I don't think they're installing a rear speaker anymore. This weekend I installed a trailer hitch, and no rear speaker on my car built mid May '22.
which hitch did you get?

I put a volume control on mine. Before that I played around with distorting the sound and even added a subwoofer in the frunk to see if I could make it sound like a V8. It worked, sort of. I played music through the speaker also and my wife thought that was really stupid.

I need to mount the volume control and then I will make a thread about it so others can copy if they want.

Right now the volume is turned down to 0 because I hate the artificial sounds. But I can turn it back up if I think I need it for some reason.

Wow, didn’t take someone long to start selling a $50 knockoff of the forum beeper deleter (about $10 in parts).

I'd prefer a reverse beep similar to the Polestar instead of a garbage truck. You might need to turn up your sound to hear properly.

That wouldn't be good to have if you hit someone and a lawsuit ensued.
They have a $50 unit that disables the Speaker and a $150 unit with an on-off remote. If I were to get one it would be the latter. I’m personally not a fan of disabling safety equipment, though.

I rather like the "spaceship" Tesla reverse sound, the Toyota one is too loud.

Even worse is the killer bees "zzzzzzzz" when the car is in drive. Like, oh my god. Couldn't it be something other than sounding like a nest of bees????

No and every manufacturer has its own unique noise. Toyota's is super freaking loud and annoying. It is hilariously bad when people that can't park try 5 times to get into a spot, forward, backward, forward, backward, the sound is sooooo loud.
My id10t neighbor 5 doors down has a rav4 and a narrow garage that he backs into. My house has old windows and i always know when he gets home because of his austin powers maneuvering to back into his garage with the freakishly loud backup noisemaker. I love toyotas...

I got the Draw-Tite hitch from eTrailer.com. Bigger towing capacity than Curt, smaller capacity than Torklift, lowest price of the 3. I don't plan to pull anything big with it for fear of blowing my HVBJB up and voiding its warranty in the process, but I do occasionally pull a small utility trailer, or attach a bike rack.

If you want least-visible, I'd go with Curt, which doesn't stick out as far in back. Torklift looks like a really nice hitch, but more hitch than I need.

Don't mean to hijack the thread! Personally I hardly notice the backup beeper, and don't find the Pedestrian sound objectionable at all.

One could install an air compressor and tank so he could run an air horn like the rednecks do. Should all fit neatly in the frunk. Maybe even add some led lighting to impress your buds. That would get rid of that pesky beep beep when you back up.

For those that don't know, the Rav4 speaker is in the front grille, and gets way louder in reverse to compensate for being on the wrong end of the vehicle. Everyone in the area can hear it getting louder and quieter suddenly when shifting directions.

Man, all I want to do is disable the backup beeper without disabling the whole pedestrian warning system. I wish Ford had not used the same speaker for both >.<

The $150 one is only for the F-150.
